Atonement Study Break.....

Posted Dec 18th, 2007 at 04:50 AM by NyCPsU
This will be quick since Im really just taking a break from studying to do it. One final to go tomorrow and then its a month of nothingness for me, cant say im not looking foward to all that nothing though.

Its so freakin cold here. I just walked to the deli like 2 minutes away and nearly lost my ears. I hate cold weather. I wish it would go away.

I also wish tennis would pick back up again. I hate being forced to follow Jelena Dokic comeback version 3.0 since nothing else is going on. Well that and the tiny tournament in Lagos, Nigeria, where my poor Lauren Albanese is making a damn fool of herself.

2 weeks to go though, im sure I can make it.

So I saw Atonement earlier today. So yea, one of the best movies I've ever seen, and Im not really sure why. Its not really slow, but it doesnt move really fast either. There isn't a lot going on, but enough to keep you on your toes. I love the cinematography and the way it is pieced together storyline and time line wise. It keeps it interesting and some of the scenes are just amazing. The 5 minute scene on the beach of Dunkirk is really well done, and the ending just leaves you feeling full of emotion. I was worried halfway through it wasn't going to live up to my expectations but it certainly did, I hope it wins best picture, it really deserves it imo. As for the acting, Knightley and McAvoy, the two leads are acting their hearts out, and their chemistry together is perfect for the roles. Not sure if they are performances worthy of winning but they definitely deserve the nominations they have received thus far. And one of the best parts is the soundtrack or the music in the movie. Using a typewriter which is a huge part of the storyline as a instrument is real genius and it works so well. I can't say enough about this movie, but nothing else really more without me spoiling anything. Please watch it so we can discuss it together!

Wow, I just rambled on about the movie. Go see it!!

Back to studying cognitive psychology for me. Eh, maybe another blog in a few hours when its time for my next study break? We'll see..until next time....
