Not nessecarely I think, she's still on the commitmentlist for Vale do lobo in two weeks and Albufiera and Sunderland the week after that. Those are tournaments where she can still use the ranking she's got now, so if she plays there and she can do well, she could still be in the top 500 ...
In the article that was in 'Dag Allemaal' a few weeks ago, she already said she would miss the first couple of weeks because of her injury but that she would start playing tournaments after the AO and try to get a better rank. So let's hope she can play after AO and limit the damage of loosing point in Hull and Tipton

Just like konijntje (rabbitje for the non-Flemish) I was fooled by the wrong information on the tourney-site.
Oooh that's so great! 1.5 points each for qualifying, plus 1 bonuspoint each for beating Canepa (Evelyne) and Misevdingskes (Leslie). Leslie now has to play qualifier Remis (357), and Evelyne plays Maria Geznenge (235).
If they win their first round they get respectively 4.5 and 5.5 points extra.
Gooooooo Evelyne and Leslie !
Whiiiii, Evelyne now idd gained 8 points so far :yeah: I think she now has 46.75 points, 0.25 more than Kirsten...so she will be ranked around 377 as for now ;)

To quote the great Aristotle: "Allo kroket!"
(or was it Ben Crabbé? I always mix those two up!)
So that's 3 out of 3 for the Belgian girls in Lueggern! :bounce:
(And 5 out of 5 for the Belgians in Lueggern coz Authom and Van Haelen also qualified for R2).
All five of them are also engaged in doubles; no matches played yet.

Adriana Barna (4) def. Caroline Maes 6-4 6-2
SAFAROVA LUCIE d. VAN HYFTE EVELYNE 6-7(7) 6-2 6-3
Safarova won the final, defeating Majoli (1) 3-6 7-6 6-1...
After seeing this, I think Evelyne is ready for 2004, and ready for top-250 (or top-200)

I was thinking that nobody cared about her victory. It was a positive thread,or wasn't it?I defenitly hope it wasn't one of those bashing threads, cuz I'm so tired of those.

Oeps! Looks like we looked over a very nice result during the past week:
3rd Abu Dhabi ITF Junior Championships (Gr5):
R1: Julie WIJNAKKER (BEL) def. Meria FAIDI (ALG) 61 60 :yeah:
R2: Julie WIJNAKKER (BEL) def. Melissa SILVA (IND) 63 63 :yeah:
QF: Sanduni WIJERATNE (INA) def. Julie WIJNAKKER (BEL) 46 62 62 :( but good fight against the 4th seed :yeah:
Not bad for her first appearance in an ITF-tournament... She's 16 already though.
So new Belgian name in the ITF-rankings: Julie Wijnakker, #1065
Results that disappeared due to the server problems:
Lueggern Junior Trophy Gr 5:
Final: KRETSCH (GER) / SPROVIERI (GER) def. CUTRONA (BEL) / STAS (BEL) 63 76 :( but :yeah: for reaching the final ;)
