View Full Version : Wednesday's Schedule

Jan 13th, 2004, 03:24 AM
At this moment it looks like Lindsay will be first up @ 10am most likely on an outside Court unless they will be changing their Centre Court schedule to start an hour earlier.

Jan 13th, 2004, 03:29 AM
OMG!!!! i thought u have it!!!!!

Jan 13th, 2004, 03:31 AM
Sorry the rest of the schedule won't be released for at least another hour :)

Jan 13th, 2004, 04:14 AM
what makes u say Lindsay on court 1 and not centre?

Jan 13th, 2004, 04:15 AM
Well the match is scheduled for 10am - and usually Centre court starts at 11am.

So unless for some reason they're shifting all the matches forward tomorrow gives me the feeling that it'll be shifted to an outside court.

I personally hope the website got it wrong and she's playing at night but that's another story ;)

Clijsters has withdrawn from AI

ETA: Still trying to find out if she'll be replaced by a LL or if Smashnova-Pistolesi will get a W/O - it should technically be a LL.

INJURED world No.2 Kim Clijsters today withdrew from the adidas International in Sydney, leaving her Australian Open hopes in tatters.

Clijsters was forced to withdraw from last week's Hopman Cup in Perth after bruising her ankle bone and the injury flared up again after a 20-minute practice session at Olympic Park today.

"I've decided I'm not going to be able to gie 100 per cent. It's definitely not an easy decision," Clijsters said when announcing her withdrawal.

The 20-year-old Belgian refused to put a percentage on her chances of taking her place in the Australian Open draw next week.

"I have to think about my future as well, make sure it doesn't become a chronic injury and (make sure I) get on top of it." Clijsters will have two full days off practice and said she would not contest the year's first grand slam if sh wasn't 100 per cent fit.

Jan 13th, 2004, 04:27 AM
thanks. so does smashnova get a WO into the QF?

Jan 13th, 2004, 04:28 AM
Not sure I suppose we'll find out when the Schedule is released tomorrow - if Smashnova isn't there then we know she is in automatically.

Of course this might be a good reason to move Lindsay's match now to night ;)

Jan 13th, 2004, 05:42 AM

So whats the schedule gossipcom, u said it was a shocker?

Jan 13th, 2004, 06:12 AM
Look above - I just think one of those outside court ones could have gone to the night match on Centre Court.

Well I'd rather see Davenport or Mauresmo over Myskina on CC @ Night.

Jan 13th, 2004, 06:15 AM
hmm true, they should have played 1 women's r2 match 2day

Jan 13th, 2004, 07:33 AM
Good luck Hantuchova/Maleeva  :D

Martian Stacey
Jan 13th, 2004, 07:41 AM

We miss the action in Sydney on tv here anyway because they're showing Kooyong and then switching back for Lleyton and Mark's matches *grrr*.

That is just pathetic, however I knew they were going to that. 4 Men's matches, if we are lucky we might get 1/2 a set of the 2nd womens match.
God knows why they show the BS exhibition when they have 2 hrs of highlights at night aswell.. Channel 7 suck big time.

Might aswell get used to it for the rest of the week aswell, as long as Mark and Lleyton win in Sydney.

Jan 13th, 2004, 10:24 AM
Allez Amélie! :)

Jan 13th, 2004, 10:36 AM
so when is sugiyama - dechy being played?

Jan 13th, 2004, 10:46 AM
Channel 7 is doing very dodgy coverage this year - I mean cutting Chris Guccione's fabulous win against Ferrero for Wheel of freaking Fortune...

And this year they're not showing the coverage on a Thursday night like in the past - bloody idiots - and to make matters worse the AI isn't available on pay-tv because Channel 7 have the sole rights for them...

It's still raining and since Paradon and Jonas still haven't played yet you might find them having the two matches at once if Paradon and Jonas don't get back on court before midnight.

If not they'll be playing two matches tomorrow.

Jan 13th, 2004, 10:54 AM
I agree ajayares, channel 7 suxs! :(

Jan 13th, 2004, 11:00 AM
good Luck LINDSAY !!!! :hearts:

Jan 13th, 2004, 12:09 PM
:bounce: ALLEZ JUSTINE :bounce:

Jan 13th, 2004, 12:25 PM
Stupid schedule
Ferreira and Coetzer shouldnt be on at night, coz they love the heat ;) And its not like Myskina deserves the night match over Davenport, Henin or Mauresmo.
And I agree with all who say Channel 7 sucks for showing so much mens tennis.

Good luck:

Karol Kucera
Greg Rusedski
Amanda Coetzer
Wayne Ferriera
Elena Bovina
Chanda Rubin
Max Mirnyi
Martina N / Lisa R

Jan 13th, 2004, 01:17 PM
