This week Tax is in Hobart and she advanced to the second round when Eleni Daniilidou retired with Tax leading 7-5, 2-0. Tax will now face off against Kristina Brandi in Round Two.

May 27th, 2004, 06:55 PM
Many thanks for the pic, GoSandrine :) :) :) :)

All of the news articles I have seen so far have only pictures of Justine and the news talks mostly about Justine's virus and how bad Justine played blah blah blah.

Tax isn't getting enough credit for this victory.

May 28th, 2004, 06:19 PM
Tax lost to Zheng 7-5, 6-7, 2-6

I had high hopes after she beat Justine, but Tax is #86 and zheng is #58 so this was not unexpected.

Tax is still in the doubles :) :) :) :)

May 29th, 2004, 03:02 AM
Casonifan1, thanks so much for the great pix!

Tough loss today.   Apparently Tax ran out of gas in the third set. She gamely tried to play doubles against Martina/Lisa immediately thereafter but had to retire due to muscle cramps.

Great tournament though and quite possibly the win of the year. Looks like she may have even made Top 50 after RG. Clearly the mover of the week. ;)

May 29th, 2004, 07:14 AM
yes you're absolutely right ;she was burnt out.I was there yesterday and I saw her with some friends of mine after her doubles match and she told us that she was nearly dead.
But she wanted absolutely to play because she decided not to miss the opportunity to play against Navratilova who is her idol.

I try to post some pics later, cause I'm going back to the stadium today, and I will cheer for Adri and Anto Serra Zanetti.;)

May 29th, 2004, 01:47 PM
Many thanks for the pics casonifan1:) :) :) :)

Tax looks great.

May 30th, 2004, 03:27 PM
Thanks for the wonderful pix, Casonifan1! :) She's so dame cute! :hearts:

It was game of Tax to at least try to play doubles after her exhausting singles match. She's a trooper. I'm hoping her win over Justine will give her confidence to win some matches at Wimbledon.

Forza Tathiana!!!

My sentiments exactly:)

thanks for your compliments . The french open is over now for me as Tax and adri with anto serra zanetti left Paris (yesterday for the 1st one and today for the sisters)

Thanks to them I had a very great time at this tournament.with my friends we could participate to Tax's biggest victory in live as she could get for us 3 player's guest pass that allowed us to have seats with players and coach .And also with the sisters too:eek:

Even if I'm very friend with my countrywoman the french player Virginie Pichet, I have a lot of sympathy and respect for italians players.

Gosandrine I made pics today of Sandrine Testud and Roby Vinci ,you'll find it in the other threads very soon.

now it's me with the sisters (pics of yesterday)

Jun 1st, 2004, 04:42 AM

And how great you got to witness Tax's momentous victory over Justine in person! :D
Thanks again for all the photos. :wavey:

Jun 17th, 2004, 01:44 AM
I'm hopeful Tax can capitalize on her RG performance and win a couple matches at W. Hopefully a good draw.

Tax has Tian Tian Sun in the first round at Wimbledon.

Good luck Tax :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce:

Jul 3rd, 2004, 08:20 AM
Tough three set loss to Sun in singles. Made it through to the second round in both doubles and mixed. :)

Anyways I gather Tax will be playing Palermo? Anyone know the rest of her schedule?

I read that Tathiana will be on the Fed Cup team and will be playing doubles with Roberta in the Olympics!!! :hearts:

Jul 18th, 2004, 04:52 PM
Tax is playing in the Morgan cup in the US this week. Strange she did not play the tournament in her own country. Oh, well.

Go Tax :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce:

Jul 18th, 2004, 05:28 PM
Not sure either but she has a winnable first round match against American wildcard Jessica Kirkland in the first round. Nadia Petrova lurks in Round Two.

Forza Tathiana!!!

And congrats on winning Fed Cup doubles with Roby against Loit/Golovin. :) Made the final score respectable even though they lost the tie.

Jul 18th, 2004, 06:59 PM
hi to everybody!!! I'm italian (and so.. sorry for my english...) and I'm a Tax-fan. I'm glad to know that all these people love her.

I've been in Rimini for the Fed Cup last week-end, and I enjoyed Tathy's match.

She's really, really a nice person.

Jul 24th, 2004, 04:29 PM
Tax got thrashed by American wildcard Jessica Kirkland in LA :(

Anyone know if she's injured? I can't figure out why she's not playing San Diego this week.

Jul 25th, 2004, 01:50 PM
I don't know why she's not in San Diego. I think she's not injured, but I'm not sure at all.

Jul 27th, 2004, 12:53 AM
Poor Tax

Hope she's okay.

It seems like she's cursed, has she even won a singles match since her awesome win over Henin?

Aug 1st, 2004, 05:02 PM
Missing Tax

She's not playing this week anywhere. Hope she's okay.

Aug 4th, 2004, 12:35 AM
Missing Tax

Aug 4th, 2004, 05:21 AM
I'm beginning to wonder if she may be injured?

I hope Tathiana will be well enough to play the Olympics and the US Open  I want to see her play in New York. Tati, where are you??? :awww:

Aug 7th, 2004, 12:16 PM
Hope Tax plays this week. This is really depressing.

I had high hopes for Tax after she defeated Henin.

Aug 7th, 2004, 03:02 PM
I suspect most of the Olympians are taking this week off to take part in the Opening Ceremonies which start Friday. Hopefully Tax will be there.

Sep 1st, 2004, 02:07 PM
From what I saw Tathiana played beautifully. :hearts: Tax was winning so easily though that I got distracted because Flavia was battling in a slugfest with Maggie on an adjacent court.

Should be interesting to see how she fares against seeded Faby. I'm expecting an upset. :yeah:

Sep 2nd, 2004, 02:08 AM
....NO UPSET  Tax lost in 3 sets to Fabiola  it was so close, Tax is really unpredictable, she can play one hour as a top 20, and then just give up....I feel she has a great potential but somehow cannot use it.

Sep 2nd, 2004, 04:14 AM
I just came from the match and it was a great atmosphere. Lots of Colombians cheering and flag waving versus me and Valerie (Casonifan) and a very nice older Italian man Francisco visiting from Naples. We had lots of fun cheering even though Tax lost.

The play was pretty high caliber. Fabiola was steady early and it took Tax a while to find her rhythm. She found it in the second set forging to a 4-1 lead and having points to go up 5-1. She tried to play aggressively and come to net but her volleys were not as sharp, losing one point at net that would have put her up by that margin. Faby won that game and the next 4 to go up 6-5 but Tax steadied herself to force the tiebreak.

A few errors early and Faby had a 3-0 lead in the breaker. Some longer rallies won by Faby put gave her three match points at 6-3. That's when Tax caught fire, won the next 3 points and caused an eruption amongst the three of us and a few other scattered fans. When Faby double faulted I tried to control my emotion but the Italian man sitting in front of me jumped up and pumped his fist and we all saluted Tax with cheers of Brava!!! :D

A letdown to start the third with some errors and Faby became a rock not making any errors. Tax fought gamely but ran out of gas against the power and steadiness of Faby. All in all a game effort.

Even in defeat I love Tathiana's competitive spirit! :hearts:

Sep 3rd, 2004, 03:50 PM
Tax and Tina Krizan won their first round doubles match yesterday over Ashley and Tatarkova 7-5,6-4. :D

Sep 6th, 2004, 05:57 AM
Tax and Tina Krizan lost a third set heartbreaker in doubles to Lee/Peng. The score was 11-9 in the tiebreak. :hysteric:

Sep 7th, 2004, 04:41 AM
Tax     What a hearbreaker.

Wish I could be there too to cheer Tax on.
