Q-Final
Sugiyama d Maleeva 4-6 7-6 6-3
This was a very exciting match and very long. It was really close and had lots of long rallies. Sugiyama lead in the first set 4-2 and looked like she had it under control but Maleeva won the next four points (Sugiyama’s serve started to go off) The second set was close and at 5-4, 0-30 to Maleeva it looked like she was going to take out the match but Sugiyama upped the pace and won the second set in a tiebreak. Maleeva looked like she was going to collapse and called the trainer, had she not of gotten heat exhortation she may have won.
Stosur d Serna 7-6 7-5
Well the crowed was defiantly on Stosur’s side she served for the first set at 5-3 but Serna came back and forced the tiebreak. Stosur played an excellent tiebreak (huge serves) The second set was close but Stosur served to well.
Dechy d Kuznetsova 7-6 6-4
Kuznetsova has a huge serve and is pretty powerful. The first set was really should have gone to Kuznetsova, she served for it a 6-5 and had about four set points but Dechy came from behind and won it in a tie break. Dechy broke Kuznetsova’s serve first game second set and from then on the seconf set remained close.
Petrova d Safina 6-1 6-4
Petrova had a huge serve and just played way to good. The first set was just a white wash, Petrova was hitting winners from all over the court! Safina has a very good backhand but her forehand was a bit rusty. During the second set Safina through her racket and hit a line’s girl in the head. She also was ordering the ball boys and girls around.
