ok Sascha :bigwave:

yeah bulgarian players often have strage family names... for us they can be hard to write, too. Most often they don't mean anything...

Akgul Amanmuradova Nr.297
others

She is taller than Lindsey Davenport, broader than Marat Safin, she is from Tashkent, but her parents are from Turkmenistan. Akgul studies economy at the uneversity in Tashkente.
The 2o year old could not develop her talent due to lack of money, as the few sponsors in Uzbekistan followed other players. Last year she finally could sign up for a 10k tournament in India, where she reached the final.
Akgul is known for her gentelness outside the court, she speaks english and are a helpfull person.

And she hits the ball HHHHard :)

 :bounce:

Actually I havenīt messured them against each other, but she is broad ;)

As some of her opponents said "Akgul donīt need to run, she just stand by the net and catches every ball"

...Krivencheva's the only one I've heard of so far...except there was something about Akgul in the challengers forum...if you go in there sometimes the names start to become familiar but I don't know anything about them... :)

I know all of them from name cause Im following the Challenger thread only thaught many posters here are unfamiliar with them, that was just what I thought

for me personally I think Garcia-Sokol and Popadic are really unknown

I know that Akgul is that tall and looks like a boy (on pictures)

about Krivencheva I searched through ITF database and that match was in 1997 in Hamburg 1st round vs Jana Kandarr which she lost 16 67

about Daniela Kix, she is currently ranked 433, she won Gdynia Challenger this year, reached the semis of Pula Challanger and Maribor Challenger and the QF of Garching Challenger (25 000$)

i think its a cultural thing, but i'd need many repeat exposures to some of those names to remember them

how many Ova's in the top 300? Some of the lower ranked ones just blur into one big one to me. I'm sure its easier for people who live in countries with more ova's, but i find it so difficult!

I can only remember seeing 3 of these players.

OMG, she was #188 when I checked a few months ago! IMO, Dani made a big mistake leaving Bernd Wetter (the ex-coach of Babsi Schwartz, right up to her huge performance in that famous Charlotte Fed Cup draw where Schett was injured and Jen had this "little disagreement" with BJK. As I'm sure you recall, Babsi II upset #4 Monica and #12 Meghann to essentially win it for AUT).

Nov 28th, 2003, 04:47 PM
rofl @ Kart, ranks go down to around 1200

plus there are several girls who have held ranks in the past, but lost thme this year but who still play, so probably a good 2000 players around at the moment. PLus of course all teh hundreds who just play 1-2 events a year

a friend of mine played against NOCIAROVA a few years ago in a 10k. so she isn't a "young gun".

So, if you win a 10K tournament, how much will you get?

I'm just wondering, sort of trying to figure out how much money a player ranked from 100-300 would earn in a year. Doesn't sound like much.

I know all of them. ;)

Magdalena Zdenovcova is really good - I saw her beat Lindsay Lee-Waters at the US Open, but sadly she hasn't played since.

The winner of a 10K gets $1,600... the full prize money breakdown is in the pdf at http://www.itftennis.com/womens/circuitinfo/rules.asp
