next big thing? its very rare that we see a junior who will be the next big thing, which i define as atleast top ten...

no juniors even the current best juniors Kirsten Flipkens and Krajicek dont look like a shoe-in for the next 'big thing'..

but certainly Ivanovic and the other juniors should atleast be able to become established on the tour and get far, but the transition is tough..

according to your definition of 'the next big thing', my grandma could be soon up there trading grounstrokes and winners with Serena.

i was just being realistic rad. you know im a fan of ana and i wish she can make it on the main tour...shes had good results winning eddie herr at 13!!!!! and nearly beating Flipkens(eventual champ( at wimbeldon, but there's such a long way to go and not just for ana but ALL the juniors including the top player Kirsten BEFORE we can start making predictions that they are gonna be a challenge to the establishment (ie the toip).

I looooove Ana but...
she didn't win Eddie Herr at 13, but at 15. She won it in 2002 and she was born on November 6 1987.
I believe in her, she's the greatest hope for us, but, to say she's the next big thing, as in future top 10, is exaggerated to say the least. Top 50 (maybe 40) will be more than OK.

Ana is 16 and ranked in the 700's, some players like Sharapova who people are calling the next big thing is 16 and ranked 32. So Ana still has a long way to go.

Sorry for Ana's fan, but the match was really close

I'm glad for Marta, great week and great one for Ana as well :D

In order to win her only "Tier I that wasn't tainted by a badly depleted draw" thus far, Belgrade Babe had to get Past Patty. And you know who taught her how to do that. (h2h 0-4 B4 JR gave her the Peppermint Prescription, 2-0 since then).

I think ana will be higher ranked and have more GS that JJ...she has that serve that can bail her out on 3 of the 4 GS surfaces....
