How about we compose our own list of the 15 Greatest Matches (1995-present so that most people will have seen the matches). To nominate a match, post the tournament, year, round, score, and description of the match. If your match has already been posted, just put down the players' names, tournament, and year. The top 15 picks will advance to the next round. 8:00 pm Tuesday is the deadline for this round.
Nasdaq-100 Open 2001 Finals
Venus Williams def. Jeniffer Capriati 4-6 6-1 7-6(4)
One of the most amazing matches I've ever seen. Both players were on fire and the crowd was really into it. After Jen won a tight first set, Venus went on a streak and played flawless tennis. The momentum shifted when the third set started as Capriati raced to a 5-2 lead. She served for the match three times and had 8 match points (one which was denied by a let cord that sent what would have been a winner less than an inch wide). When the tiebreak started, Venus immediately got a minibreak and never looked back, attaining a 6-3 lead.
