Some well known names but what a weak draw for a tournament like this. I remember former years when Steffi, Arantxa, Hingis, Novotna, Martinenz, Jen, Lindsay all played here.. :rolleyes:

Also good luck to Petrova and Zvonareva. It seems as though both the Russinas and Ai could really pose a threat to Chanda's position for the YEC.

Interesting tournament.

It really isn't that weak of a draw, it's stronger than some of the other tier 2's such as Warsaw and Dubai some years. It's the first year for the tournament being back and with most of the top Americans injured or burnt out, it's hurt the level of the field because Davenport and Serena were originally scheduled to play.

I'm gonna say this as a few others have... This draw is so SUCKEY!!!! Quebec has a better draw then this with Pierce and Sharapova!!! At least Venus will have a good chance to get her game ready for the Championships, but Sugiyama might pose a problem if she isn't tired from Linz that is!
