Serena Slam"- The most dominant period by individual player in the history of the rankings(1975) in terms of head to head competition:

The 52 weeks period of the ranking that covers the "Serena Slams" (Scottsdale 2002 to now) is the most dominant period by individual head-to-head against the top 3 ranked players in the world in the history the ranking system. Serena's h2h against the WTA top 3 in that period:

The Serena Slam - Non-Calendar Grand Slam.
Wins:
1.#3 Hingis
2.#2 Capriati,
3.#3 Hingis,
4. #2 Venus,
5. #1 Capriati,
6. #2 Capriati,
7. #1 Capriati,
8. # 2 Venus,
9. #1 Venus,
10.#2 Venus,
11.#3 Capriati,
12.#2 Venus.

Losses:
none

Dominance of the top 3 = 12 - 0 !

The other periods during which a player had all four Grand Slams counted towards her rankings were, Graf 1998 Golden Slam, Graf ( Roland Garros 1993 to Berlin 1994 to include the AO 1994), and Navratilova (Australian Open [December] 1983 to US Open 1984).

So, in comparison to the other Slams in the history of the rankings:

1. Navratilova ( Tarpoon Springs, Fl 1983 to US Open 1984): Non-Calendar year Grand Slam.

Wins:
1. #2 Evert
2. #2 Evert
3. #2 Evert
4. #2 Evert
5. #3 Mandlikova
6. #3 Mandlikova
7. #2 Evert
8. #2 Evert
9. #2 Evert

Losses:
1. #3 Mandlikova.

Dominance of the top 3 = 9 - 1 !

2. Graf ( Golden Slam January 1988 - November 1988): Calendar year Grand Slam.

Wins:
# 3 Evert
# 3 Evert
# 2 Navratilova
*# 3 Sabatini.

* Graf beats Sabatina at the Olympics. Sabatini was actually ranked # 4 in the official rankings, but since # 2 Navratilova did not play the 1988 Olympics (#1 Graf and #3 Evert played) I included this win as a top 3 win.

Losses:
1. # 2 Navratilova.

Dominance of the top 3 = 4 - 1 !

3. Graf ( Roland Garros 1993 to German Open 1994):-Non-Calendar Year Grand Slam.

Wins:
1. # 2 ASV
2. # 2 ASV
3. # 2 ASV
4. # 3 Navratilova
5. # 2 ASV.

Losses:
1. # 2 ASV.

Dominance of the top 3 = 5 - 1 !

Bandabou are you sure??? I mean, just being there seems to count a lot these days.

Besides, we all know Serena is just a mindless ball basher messing up the game.

Seriously, if any of the present darlings had a record like that there would be no discussion about the fairness of the rating system would there? The Warrior Princess will be back next year, and maybe we'll get to see the Queen end of this year. All hail!!! :worship:

No sweeties, None of those. Serena don't like the *&^% anymore. Therefore, she's going to do everything she got to beat her.

And seeing that Serena is more skilled, talented, athletic and smarter than Justine - all Serena needs is a good nights rest and come out and paint the lines, rush the net, and take Justine out of her backhand rhythum.

Besides, Justine is only opportunity comes on that slow stuff anyway.

Ball buster, my bad if I misread your post. I thought you were saying Serena will never do what she did during the Serena slam again. If you meant no one else will ever accomplish that feat, then we are in agreement. I think she's gonna come back with a vengeance.
