View Full Version : Cheering thread for Magüi Serna!

Oct 7th, 2003, 05:24 PM
This tournament's qualifying starts on Friday, and Magüi must play it (unless some withdraw), so I wanted to start a cheering thread before it's too late ;).

I hope that Magüi can win at least a couple of matches in the qualifying (please, no Tina again ;).

Well, 'onwards and upwards' as the saying goes! Let's hope this week will be better for Magui. The qualifying for these tournaments is always so tough though.

Buena suerte Magui!! Vamos! :bounce:

:topic: I finally have unlimited broadband access from my room here at Exeter uni., so I can post more frequently again now!! :D

Let's hope that this week will be better than last ;) Well, it can't be much worse.

At least now I have a fully operational PC & Internet :D :D :D No need for the Prozac ;)

Oct 9th, 2003, 05:36 PM
So, Magui plays Anna-Lena Gronefeld in the 1st round of qualifying and yet again is in Tina's section!!!

Well, I'm never really sure what to expect from Magui from one week to the next, but she definately can make it to the main draw if she plays well enough. Best of luck to her!

Don't for get to vote for Magui everyone: www.sanexheros.net/us

At least now I have a fully operational PC & Internet :D :D :D

Glad to hear your internet and PC are fully functional again! No more filling in your time with French homework! ;)

Not an easy draw for Magui :( especially as she isn't on her best form at the moment!

Good Luck Magui :)

Magui is already in the Main Draw wether she loses or wins her match :D

Oct 12th, 2003, 10:48 AM
Magui has won the 1st set against Pisnik 7-6(5) despite having 4 set points against her :D

Come on Magui win the next set with ease ;)

Oct 12th, 2003, 10:56 AM
So Magui actually lost the 1st set 7-6 :fiery:  but is up 3-0 in the 2nd. I don't trust the scoreboard anymore!!!

Oct 12th, 2003, 11:37 AM
Magui lost 7-6(5) 7-5

:banghead: :banghead:  :fiery: but she gets in the maindraw as a LL :)

Oct 12th, 2003, 11:40 AM
 :banghead: :crying2:

Oct 12th, 2003, 02:49 PM
Jorn will be happy, that's what I call a 'useful' defeat for him ;)

Tina, Tina, it's weird what this two have been doing this year, first Magüi defeats Tina twice in a row and now Tina defeats Magüi twice in a row....hopefully Magüi is in the main draw in spite of this defeat, now I'm waiting for her rival, and I'm afraid no rival for Q/LL is easy....

Oct 12th, 2003, 04:06 PM
Tina is stalking Magui all over the world this year, she needs to stop it! :( ;)

Congrats to both girls for making the main draw in any case ;)

Vamos Magui! :D

Oct 12th, 2003, 06:18 PM
Magüi and Alicia won in doubles, although it was much closer than expected...I had to leave with 6-2, and thought, well, ewasy match today ;). And later I saw they had won 7-6 in the third!

BTW, Magüi-Sugiyama in main draw. Good luck to Magüi!! (although it will be really really tough)

Oct 12th, 2003, 06:30 PM
BTW, no rest for Magüi's fans. Magüi plays tomorrow against Ai. Good luck!

Oct 13th, 2003, 01:01 PM
 :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: Athens 2004 here we come!! :p

Pdm1987 - I hope you still have enough painkillersl for us all!

Oct 13th, 2003, 01:04 PM
:banghead: :banghead:

Had Magui won this match and won her second round against, lol, Pisnik  She would've become top 20  :hysteric: :bigcry:

Oct 13th, 2003, 02:38 PM
:banghead:  :banghead:
This :banghead:  theme is becoming a bit tiresome now!!!!

And yes Caz, I have a few painkillers left, but my supply is rapidly decreasing ;)

Oct 13th, 2003, 05:30 PM
a shame   I had to leave with one set all and thought there could be a miracle...but not ;)

Not only Magüi bwould have been so close to the top 20 if she had won today, but also closer than ever to Spain's number 1, I think

BTW, I guess I will leave the computer for today because I'm sick the whole day (a big big cold) and much sicker after being all day at work, so I'm gonna relax and see if Nadal-Corretja is on TV ;) (my sister is there live, I envy her! ;))

Oct 15th, 2003, 10:27 AM
Good Luck Magui and Alicia in dubs tomorrow or whenever they play? :)

SORRY Tina beat Magüi ;)

Oct 15th, 2003, 05:48 PM

there's something I can't understand...

Magüi and Alicia had to play in doubles on Sunday when they also had to play a singles match and now they have to wait for so long to play their QF match, because for the moment they aren't neither in Thursday's schedule...

Are they going to play or not? ;)

Oct 15th, 2003, 09:10 PM
Yeah, I couldn't believe it when they weren't on tomorrow's schedule either. I guess they'll play on Friday! What bad scheduling!

Oct 15th, 2003, 09:53 PM
Perhaps if they had more than 1 court it might be easier ;)

Oct 16th, 2003, 09:01 AM
Not to mention all the breaks between matches!!! ;)

Oct 16th, 2003, 03:23 PM
Yeah, long breaks, they could play the doubles there :p

I wonder if we'll see this match in tomorrow's schedule.... maybe at 23 h or so ;)

Oct 16th, 2003, 03:48 PM
People, I can't believe it. There must be something wrong in tomorrow's schedule because....Magüi and Alicia will play!!! ;) And not at 23 h, but at 12 ;)

Waiting so long for an expected defeat.....but who knows?

Oct 16th, 2003, 04:15 PM
Yeah, long breaks, they could play the doubles there :p

If only!! Do you know what else?!?! There is simply nothing for the spectators to do during those long breaks!! I remember how booooooored Bea and I were when we were there last year, with no choice of matches and so many breaks that sometimes lasted sooooo long!! It would definately make sense to play doubles then, but then I guess the doubles might overrun and the breaks are to ensure the matches they want televised are televised!

But wow! Finally Magui and Alicia get to play! I think they should give them bonus points for waiting around for so long!! ;)

Oct 17th, 2003, 12:56 PM
Magui & Alicia def. Lisa & Rennae! WOW! :worship:   I will never laugh about Magui's doubles again [....well, maybe not!!!] !! lol!! ;) :p

Oct 17th, 2003, 01:23 PM
WOW!!!! I can't believe it!

Well done, girls!!! :):)

LOL @ Caz

Oct 17th, 2003, 03:19 PM

Oct 17th, 2003, 04:40 PM
Congrats Alicia & Magui :worship: :worship:

Oct 18th, 2003, 06:07 PM
Magui & Alicia lost 4-6, 2-6. Still, I guess it was only ot be expected, Kim & Ai are so much better. Hopefully Vivi & Paola can beat them tomorrow though! ;)
