I think Volcana meant "extremely ranked" when he said "notable", as in

"...winning a title this young means she could be ranked somewhere between #1 and #300+ in a couple of years..." ;)

Hingis won that young too. I didn't ever intend to mention ALL the players who ever won tournaments at 16 or 17, just two of them. Two players who's careers took VERY different paths after that.

Did she or did she not just say that she DIDN'T INTEND TO MENTION ALL THE PLAYERS WHO WON AT THAT AGE? So why are you bringing up Angie - who will be a journeywoman at best - for no reason whatsoever?

Lets go all russian girls, keep rising!! :)
Did you hear Schett say that in a couple of years 3/4 of the top player on WTA will be from Russia? I really hope will come true!! :D :bounce:

Well they sure know what time-table to choose! In 4 years Serena will already be 26, so she wouldn´t be exactly in her prime anymore. Neither would be Justine and Kim, Venus neither....so it shouldn´t be that difficult thing to do.

i see that sharapova has already played 16 tournaments so i suppose that means that she is finished for this yr

Vera gettin close to that top 10 :D

she was a hell of a lot closer before myskina decided to win everything. she'd be less than one hundred points out of it if myskina didn't win leipzig or moscow. now she's 600 points away.

I think Sharapova's done for the year but she only has 6 WTA/ITF tournaments (Sea Island, Birmingham, Los Angeles, Toronto, Shanghai, Tokyo) since her 16th birthday so I believe she can play four more until April plus the Australian Open.
