This is a very strong field for a tier II. This is how Moscow should've looked.
I thought Lindsay was out for the rest of the season? Something isn't right her.
Another tournament for Miss Dokic.
Hope Myskina (Congrats. btw) doesn't start until Tues. or Wed. I'm pretty sure she's tired right about now. I thought she was going to get bye. Should be a good match against Alex. Go Alex!
Hope Kim is alright to compete.
Anyway, good luck to all the ladies and may the best woman win.

What a STRONG field !
Poor Patty :( What a bad draw :(
well i guess if you consider the fact that she was one of the last direct entrants and that she faces a qualifier in the first round and probably mauresmo, who is player she has beaten on numerous occasions, and then possibly an underdone clijsters, maybe it's not such a bad draw after all. she could have easily been up against a top seed in round 1.
i really hope she doesn't get myriam, marie or babsi in round one though

Mary gets a quali! Great for her - hope it's not Paola.

all my sentimental favs playing !!! :bounce: :worship: :bounce:
I wondered about the direct entry for Alex Stevenson too. I think Paola and some others are absolutely "in" compared to Alex. Why did she get in directly ???
Regarding Lindsay, this might be the "???" for the first 1-2 days of this events.
a) how did organizers get her to play
b) what does it mean for the rest of her career ?

There should not have been a surgery because it takes so long to heal.
I´m so proud about the depth within this field, I cannot tell you. It shows that there will always be a German tierII event if the girls like to come her so much and that this event will survive and it will survive on top of all other European indoor events. Compare it to Linz and Moscow, there´s nothing of that calibre at the moment. It might be even better than Zurich in spite of less points :)

The draw is stacked with great matches! This is what all tournaments should be like :)
But it'd be tough on the players!
Good luck Jen and Elena D! :)
