During the presentation of the Madrid Master series that has been talked between Ion Tiriac and Alberto Ruíz Gallardón, mayor of Madrid, Tiriac announced the possibility of creating two more mixed tournies as Cayo Vizcaíno and Indian Wells at least one of the new ones would be held in Europe....
Tiriac explained the efforts that should be done to achieve it and the mayor of Madrid accepted.
I'm sure more talks must be done yet, however it's well known here that Madrid aims to have a huge tennis tourney to give them more credibility in order to get the 2012 Olympic games...
At the begining they wanted a Master Serie and they got it, so who knows if they will get such a wonderful tourney :bounce:

That should be interesting; so does Barcelona.

Considering the crowds (I use the term 'crowds' loosely) that attend the current WTA event in Madrid, I know which one I'd give it to.
