Yesterday André Denys, a Flemish member of parliament, asked in the Flemish parliament by means of an interpellation if it’s true that American sport aces (tennis and athletics) sometimes demand that there will be no doping controls while they are in Flanders. – André Denys means the Diamond Games at Antwerp (where Venus won this year) and the Memorial Ivo Van Damme (a meeting of the Golden League).

The Flemish minister for sports Marino Keulen answered that to his knowledge this doesn’t happen in Flanders, but he doesn’t want to say anything about what happens in the rest of the country.

He emphasizes that there will be a lot more controls (also out-of-competition-controls) in Flanders and that Flanders together with France and Italy (in Europe) will be at the forefront in fighting the doping menace.

Interesting. Why ask for absence of doping control if you've nothing to hide?

That's obviously the real reason why the question was asked.

André Denys hinted that the Americans have something to hide, but because there is no proof ...

One can't find anything if one doesn't look for something.

The question is: which sport?! Tennis?!

The answer that no one had ever asked that there be 'no doping controls'. As soon as someone says anyone actually DID ask that, we'll be moving along. Naming names would help a lot too.
