Elena wasted a 6-4 4-2 lead in their last encounter at San Diego.... Will she learn from it and pull out a win this time?

Meanwhile, Justine is leading Elena 3:0 on Hardcourt... and she already defeated 2 Russian girls in a row in this tourney.... Will Elena be the next one?

I'm gonna to be happy for the winner whoever she is.... and I hope it turns out to be an exciting and close match!!!

Go Elena :D I know you can win :)

Aug 16th, 2003, 08:24 AM
lol if Justine wins this match, she might possibly face a 4th Russian in a row in the finals (Lina K.);)

Dementieva had a long day today and Justine owns her except for that blemish in Amelia Island:( The winner of this match will win the tournament imo.

Justine in two tight sets 7-5, 7-6:)

Aug 16th, 2003, 08:26 AM
Elena 6-4 7-6.

Aug 16th, 2003, 09:56 AM

three russians in a row

Aug 16th, 2003, 10:01 AM
It's an Amelia Island situation this time. The Russians are red hot and if Lina wins in the afternoon Alyona has one reason more to beat Juju ... ;)

Alyona in two difficult sets 7-5 6-4, go for it lady !!!

Aug 16th, 2003, 10:09 AM
Justine Henin Herdenne will defeat Dementieva
3 sets like always,,,, 4-6, 6-3, 6-4

Aug 16th, 2003, 10:14 AM
Justine will defeat four Russians in a row to take the title. I hope!

Aug 16th, 2003, 10:20 AM
Who knows, Elena is playing well and has beaten two opponents who i though no way she would beat. The win against Maruesmo (after THAT loss 6-0 6-0) could have done so much good for her. Who knows. I just dont want her wasting 7-5 4-2 40-0 leads again.

Elena had Justine on the ropes when they last played BUT did lose.

Justine still has the edge, she's a top 3 player for god's sake BUT

Elena always has a chance, especially on hardcourts, regardless of the last result.

She stated that she thinks Justine is a great player, but she has nothing to lose either. I think Elena is quietly confident, I just hope that translates into results!!!!

I just hope Elena is not too tired (she played a loooong 3 set doubles match last nite too!) and can come out firing and being aggressive.

Good luck Elena, I hope you can take this one too! :)

Justine will win, Dementieva won her cup on her last match!
The only thing sweeter would be a straight set win for
Justine!!

Aug 16th, 2003, 12:04 PM

Aug 16th, 2003, 12:08 PM

Justine will always stay the underdog I guess *sigh*

I don't see that as a bad thing ;)
(and Elena IS a tough cookie btw)

Aug 16th, 2003, 03:00 PM
Justine will always stay the underdog I guess *sigh*
Juju was never the underdog in my mind. Playing Kim I always thought she just needed the little luck to get the upper hand - and now she's got it ...

the real underdog and today my sentimental fav is n'theless Ms Dementieva !

Aug 16th, 2003, 03:01 PM
and Juju never was the sentimental underdog if she played against the other top 6 ;)

Aug 16th, 2003, 03:04 PM
Juju

Aug 16th, 2003, 03:27 PM
This is the line for JuJu's match, and she is the heavy favorite: Justin Henin Hardenne -750
Elena Dementieva +525
I'll lay the money on justine, it's a cheap price!!

Aug 16th, 2003, 03:29 PM
Justine in two easy sets of 6-3, 6-2

Aug 16th, 2003, 03:52 PM
justine 6-2 6-3...thats my fave score.

ALLEZ JUJU!kill those serves!dont get behind!its just another one of em russians that u need to beat!

Aug 16th, 2003, 03:56 PM
Juju will win it. And take over #1 spot soon

Aug 16th, 2003, 04:33 PM
Of course Justine is the favorite and she knows she can beat Elena in straight sets. But Elena is in good shape, has defeated 2 top 10's to reach into the semi-finals. I think she has her chances, but it will be so difficult. I just hope it will be different as it happened in San Diego.

Good Luck Elena! :hearts:  :hearts:  :worship: :hearts:  :hearts:

Aug 16th, 2003, 05:29 PM
