View Full Version : The Jane O'Donoghue Cheering Thread

Aug 15th, 2003, 04:24 PM
In this thread for all of your news, views & comments about Jane's results and performance :)

Good Luck Jane on your movement into the Top 200 :D

www.janeodonoghue.cjb.net (http://www.janeodonoghue.cjb.net/)

I think if Jane becomes more consistent and beats players who she is capable of beating, then her ranking should soon rise ;) Does anyone know where she is playong next?

Aug 15th, 2003, 04:41 PM
Go Jane! :bounce:

Great site Pdm! I signed your guest book and gave your site ten stars!

Aug 15th, 2003, 08:07 PM
C'mon Jane :) We know you can do it.

I see from the ETA site that Jane's entered for Rimini 23rd August, as a qualifier.

Nov 16th, 2003, 10:37 AM
I thought I would revive this thread. Jane is at a critical tournament next week, she is in the Deauville main draw, and she needs to do well to give herself a chance of an Aussie Open Quallies spot.

Good Luck Jane! :):):):):):):):)

Nov 16th, 2003, 02:58 PM
Good Luck Jane :D :D

Nov 16th, 2003, 08:13 PM
Good luck to Jane. I know she can do it. I hope that she has a good week and proves what she's capable of.
Just imagine if she gets into Aus Open quallies ... she could be a dark horse and make it through to the main draw ... then what!?

Nov 18th, 2003, 07:14 PM
Jane O'Donoghue d. Ana Timotic 6-1 6-7 6-2

Well done Jane! She now faces Eva Birnerova, the second seed. Hard, but good luck!

Nov 18th, 2003, 08:41 PM
Jane MUST win against Birnerova to get clsoe to the top 220, where the Aus Open cut off will be close to!!!

Come on Jane! :D Good Luck

Nov 22nd, 2003, 02:38 PM
Jane lost 5-7 2-6 to Birnerova

Keep going in the Czech Republic Jane! :)

Nov 22nd, 2003, 04:51 PM
janes ranking of around 240 should be good enough, it usually is.

Nov 23rd, 2003, 09:38 PM
 she lost to Birnerova.
Is Jane playing any more now before Christmas?

Dec 12th, 2003, 03:44 PM
Has Jane done enough to get into the Aussie Quallies?

Jan 15th, 2004, 11:55 AM
So Jane was not high enough to get into Aussie Open qualifying. but she is committed in Waikoloa $50K and last i heard was in the Qualifying section. Good luck Jane!

Jan 15th, 2004, 03:23 PM
Good Luck Jane :D She is currently number 8 in the qualifying for Waikoloa, and has most likely gone up!

Also, at the moment I am having some problems with my Jane website (see sig) and when I get MS Front Page (or alike) not the Yahoo version ;) I will be able to update again :D

Mar 5th, 2004, 08:29 AM
*revives thread once again *

Jane is in danger of losing the number 2 spot to Amanda Janes soon, as Amanda been rocketing up recently. Jane is committed only to $25K in Athens (currently qualifying), and is way down on the Alternates list of the Tour Event in Estoril (222) and is also on the Grand Prix SAR La Princesse Lalla Meryem  Alternates list (57). Its great to see her going for the bigger events though!

Mar 28th, 2004, 11:48 AM
well Domachowska has gone up from Alternate 49 to Alternate 12 on the Grand Prix SAR La Princesse Lalla Meryem, so I'm sure Jane should get in ;) and she'll probably be at a similar point for Estoril qualies :)

Good Luck Jane :D

Apr 14th, 2004, 02:11 PM
It seems jane is going backwards :o

After qualifying for the maindraw in Biarritz, Jane goes and loses in the first round 6-0 6-0 :o

I wasn't expecting her to win, but that it terrible!!!

And she's supposed to be our best clay courter!!!

Apr 14th, 2004, 05:21 PM
Janes an up and down player. One week she'll have great results then then next:rolleyes:

She had struggled in qualifying so its not too suprising.

I hope she can gain a little consistency in order to close in on the top 200

Apr 22nd, 2004, 07:15 PM
After an abysmal week last week, this week, in Bari ($25k)

Round 1: def. (2) Conchita Martinez Granados 6-1 4-6 6-1  :D

Quarter-Finals: vs. Katerina Bondarenko (q) Good Luck Jane :D

May 14th, 2004, 10:42 AM
Jane is doing well again in a clay tournament, with a couple of great wins in Stockholm. She beat Emma Laine (a top junior) in the first round 36 63 62 and then wiped the floor with Rita Kuti Kis (who once infamously beat Jelena Dokic ;)) 62 63.

She plays Hanna Nooni in the quarter final. Good luck Jane! :D

May 29th, 2004, 08:02 PM
Jane lost to Nooni and then again to Nooni at the following tournament in Caserta

But she goes to Surbiton! ;)

Come on Jane, a good showing at Surbiton is what you deserve. And all the best on the grass in the coming weeks...

Aug 2nd, 2004, 09:21 AM
Am I right in thinking that Jane has qualified for Stockhom? I'm finding it difficult to track down all the quallifiers results.....

Oct 25th, 2004, 05:33 PM
Jane's Quarter :)

Evie Dominikovic (Aus) vs. Yoon-Jeong Cho (Kor)

Might have trouble with Li in the second round, but anyway - come on Jane! :)

Jane appears to have found some form in the last week, making the semifinal at the $50K Gifu challenger, beating Daja Bedanova along the way before losing to Shiho Hisamatsu! This week at the $50K Fukuoka challenger, she beat #7 seed Tiffany Dabek 63 61 and plays Ayami Takase next! Go Jane! :bounce: :bounce:

May 12th, 2005, 05:36 PM
Jane beat Ayami Takase 26 63 61 and plays 15 year old Ayumi Morita. She's going to be a good player but I think Jane should win!

Has Jane upset someone? - not sure why she had to play the LTA Play-off's rather than get a direct WC for Wimby.
Still good practice I guess, if somewhat nerve wracking.

5-1 up vs Craybas then lost 5-7 1-6............................

Jun 16th, 2005, 03:12 PM
Jane plays Anna-Lena Groenefeld in the first round. Apparantly Anna-Lena is injured so hopefully Jane takes advantage of it and can pull off the win. She will play Dechy if she wins her first round! Go Jane! :bounce: :bounce:

I would think so. The last 18 months have been poor from her bar 5 decent tournaments.

She reached 180 in the rankings and things looked good, since then its been downhill.

Jane is continuing her winning form as she beat Vanessa Wellauer 64 64 in the first round of the $10K in Sunderland and then followed it up with a 76 64 win over Elizabeth Thomas. She plays Patricia Sanduska in the quarters who she should be able to beat with relative ease even though she's had some decent wins this week.
