And we can't even see the practice courts. (They're covered on all sides and you can only view them from above...from one of the $35 ticket sections.)

Play started, I have a ticket, and I'm not even there right now. (Tells you something, eh?)

I have tickets for the day sessions today thru Friday and for the Friday night session. Thankfully, I bought the cheap seats (but splurged for the QF). What really blows with Anna K, Davenport and Serena pulling out is that the chances of them scheduling Clijsters or Capriati for a day session is completely out the window.

I could be content with watching low-ranked players (outside top 100/500) but after the sheer misery of qualifying day 1 and the fact that they've completely changed the spectator experience (using a dinky outer court that only 50 people can sit at rather than 2 courts of action at the same time) I'm not gonna *gulp* "waste" my time. At least with two courts, if one match sucked, you could watch the other one.

I'll be there for the Black-Frazier match (n/b 2pm!)...but not now.

Believe me, I'm not above watching qualies or early rounds....I quite enjoy it usually, but when the qualies are so weak that they are blowouts for the low ranked player over like a local college player, I wouldn't go for free, much less pay for a ticket.

Granville is a big draw at Stanford because she was a big star when she played for Stanford.

I couldn't agree more. Though from Finland it is impossible
