It's great that she reaches main draw (especially beating Myskina), but I still think she should concentrate even more on doubles. Oh well, good luck Els!
Jan 28th, 2002, 10:20 PM
Well done Els! :) Good luck against Ai and in doubles with Roberta! :)
Jan 28th, 2002, 10:53 PM
Come on Els, defend Belgium in this draw, show us that you can go through Ai!!!!!:bounce:
Jan 29th, 2002, 01:45 AM
There's an error on the TV1 teletext I think..it said Els had beaten two japanese girls...and a chinese or so...they didn't mention Myskina
Jan 29th, 2002, 03:26 AM
K, I noticed it too. And it really pisses me off.
So typical, doesn't it bother you people all these errors? It's obvious there's not one good tennis journalist in Belgium. We have two of the best tennis players in the world, and you would think they would make at least an effort. But unfortunately their interest in tennis hasn't changed at all. Maybe I'm exagerating, sure there's more tennis on television the last year and a half. But if you take the sports paper, it's just a shame I think. What was it last week in 'Het Nieuwsblad'? Clijsters would be out for about a month, maybe she would be back to defend her title in Stanford??? Come on, what the hell is that? There was another error in that same article, I can't remember at the moment.
Some time ago, Belgian teletext was talking about Davis Cup (when in fact they meant Fed Cup).
Jan 29th, 2002, 01:36 PM
It often bothers me to see those stupid errors. I consider myself as a big tennisfan, but I expect those people to be 'experts' well at least they should give the correct information.
How often did I see results on teletext who are reversed?? Then you are happy someone won..you check the dutch teletext and you see the other one won  Then I have to check the german one to be sure..lol
No it often pisses me often certainly when it are such obvious mistakes..opponents, scores..that are facts. They should give them correctly.
at least the fans know better..
Jan 29th, 2002, 06:59 PM
 @ Belgium errors things :p
Jan 29th, 2002, 10:12 PM
So true! I never trust their teletext scores, so I always check on NOS and BBC.
Don't laugh with us Alex! ;) It's a real torture sometimes!
Jan 30th, 2002, 03:27 PM

Jan 30th, 2002, 10:39 PM
Great win Els! Good luck againt Monica! :bounce:
Jan 30th, 2002, 11:58 PM
C'mon Els! :D
She can really play excellent tennis. I remember that she won both her matches in Fed Cup '96 against Spain (Arantxa and Magüi) and she also beat Halard-Decugis in Fed Cup 2000.
Jan 31st, 2002, 12:31 AM
I'm going with Joris on this one, I reallly think she should fully concentrate on doubles. She could become one of the very best there. And she should try to find a regular partner. I thought she played with Chanda, how come she doesn't here? It's a real shame Domi retiered, they were a great team.
Anyway, great win over Ai, you've got nothing to lose against Monica, Els!! Go for it girl!:bounce:
Jan 31st, 2002, 02:22 AM
Isn't Chanda injured at them moment?
Jan 31st, 2002, 05:19 PM
As expected she lost in singles, but she in semi's in doubles! Go Els!!!!
Jan 31st, 2002, 06:04 PM
Jan 31st, 2002, 07:36 PM
Els did more than we all expected in singles, Congrats Elsje! :)
It would be great if she could win the doubles now with Vinci!
Feb 1st, 2002, 12:45 AM
Yes Chanda is injured so Els had to find a new partner for the time being. I'm glad she found Roby, they make a good team!
Go Els/Roby! :bounce:
Feb 1st, 2002, 01:41 AM
It would be great if Els and Roby kept playing together till Chanda is back. But from what I read from Ed, Roby had already agreed to play with Els in Tokio some time ago. Tokio wasn't on Testud's schedule, she was a late entry and had to look for another partner. So I think they'll only play together for this one tournament.
Feb 2nd, 2002, 12:36 AM
Well done Els, one step closer to the top-100 were you belong :)
She can play great tennis, I hope she will continue like this :)
6-3 6-3 against Monica is not bad at all
Good luck in doubles :)
