Channel Seven had a little interview with Billie-Jean King today before the women's match, and the subject of Rios' comments on the game came up.
Well, Billie-Jean was nice and direct, telling the reporter that he is a player who has not fulfilled his potential, and that often when a player of his low calibre are frustrated with their game, they take it out on others.
She pointed out that the real champions in sport lift everyone a level higher, not try to down-grade one sex to a lower level as Rios has so pathetically attempted to do, whether he consiously tried to or not.
Gotta love Billie-Jean!

Agree with you 100% Iva's #1 fan! Billie-Jean has really boosted Channel Seven's commentary team this year, adding some much need life back into it!
I love when Billie-Jean and Liz Smylie cover the matches, they have so much fun together, I loved listening to the Pratt/Henin and Seles/Venus match - they are a great combination and I hope they get her back next year, instead of Pam Schriver.
