... the Miss has a good serve but making alot of errors..

Jun 24th, 2003, 04:29 PM
Justine doesn't seem too confident...
Vakulenko stands way to the left when serving from the ad side.

2 bp's Vakulenko now.

5-4 Justine
Justine seems a bit shakey, but I think she'll get through

Jun 24th, 2003, 04:51 PM
LOL Since Julia stands so far towards the ad court I'd be hitting down the line almost every time! lol

But Julia's playing very well. Nice serve and solid groundstrokes. :)

Jun 24th, 2003, 04:51 PM
Go Julia!!! :D

Jun 24th, 2003, 04:53 PM
her serve is so nice! does she move over so they all cross the middle of the net? she has to have quick side to side motion for this to work properly in the longrun.

Jun 24th, 2003, 04:57 PM
She doesn't seem to have a second serve, it's just two first serves. She's really going for her shots which is why they often end up in the net or way out.

damn Miss just lost first set 7-5

fight Julia !

Jun 24th, 2003, 05:05 PM
She's falling apart for no reason.

Jun 24th, 2003, 05:06 PM
Miss just lost serve... she should stand mor ein the middle, it's too inconsistent and predictable

Jun 24th, 2003, 05:07 PM
Justine is serving very well :D

60% first serve => 88% winning of it
63% second serve winners :D

Vakulenko can't handle the rally's so if Justine returns her serve (if ;)) she most off the time loses the point

Jun 24th, 2003, 05:15 PM
I thought if you were tall and powerful, you're an instant champion.... Guess not!

Come on JUSTINE!!!

Jun 24th, 2003, 05:16 PM
7-5 first set against someone playing like this.

Jun 24th, 2003, 05:17 PM

Justine wins
7-5 6-1

Jun 24th, 2003, 05:47 PM
juju played AWESOME in the second set. She hit a lot of aces, unreturnables and return winners. Also knocked off some volleys and hit a drop shot. Her returns were great. she hit them aggressively for winners or used a nasty slice to set up her forehand. :D

Jun 24th, 2003, 05:48 PM
good to hear that her hand didn't seem to bother her...

*cough cough* Didn't ys say something about Justine NEVER serving over 110 mph in her life? Well.....I think it was him, but I know someone said it.....get a look at these stats =P

She played much better in the second set.

The first set I could see her losing at one stage if it went to a tie-break.

According to her official site, her fastest is 114 mph and it keeps on improving every year :bounce:
