Jen was on fire! I'm not being biased or anything but she played an excellent match today :p She seemed pleased with herself at the end ;)

Thanks for the update since ESPN chose to show us Ferrero on grass....HOW excitiing. Would it kill them to show two games of Jen to see how she's playing???

Jen's served has improved! SHe has put more variety in it and she's not dropping left or right anymore with her toss ;) It's sets up the points much easier for her

from what i am seeing so far in this match. jen is not firing. Casanova is firing and dictatin over 80% of the points. she just is missing EXTRA EXTRA big. But Jen is being agressive and consistent and this is how she won the match.

2 Iroda Tulyaganova UZB 114 183
2 Venus Williams USA 114 183
4 Elena Baltacha GBR 113 182

Brilliant effort Jen, she should be pleased with herself.

Dissecting 80% of points?! Bollocks.

Yes, that is the girl that moved into the Molitor household. They showed the entire match on ESPN. Great win for Jen!

Jen played awesome, absolutely on fire.

No way was Casanova dictating, and even when she did, Jen turned up the gas even more.

Jen was serving great, moving well and striking the ball so hard. The crowd were murmuring each time Jen unleashed.

IF Jen can keep this up, she is sure gona be a contender!! :)

It seems like she's kind of being ignored by the press, in comparison to others. As well, I never saw any of her on ESPN, although I didn't watch every minute. This is a third great sign: her impressive playing in her opening match, her ease in her post-match interview, and fewer reporters on her. The press and controversy are poison to Jen. Here's hoping none of that starts and Jen plays her best tennis.

I think Jen played well, but to me, I don't think she played awesome. She didn't make unforced errors and she served well, but I would have liked to have seen her come in a little more or be a tad more aggressive on the backhand. Casanova played rather poorly, so it was hard to gauge how Jen was playing. If Jen had a tougher match I could tell.

I'm a huge Jen fan. I love her. She looks great and she played well. But it was the kind of win she should have...but I think Jen should be a little bit more aggressive.

Keith - players typically work there way into a tourny. For her first round, this is excellent. We saw:
1. Good serving
2. Good concentration
3. Good attitude
4. Aggressive

She said in her interview that she really wants to come out strong and not have let downs. After the first set, she said she is now going to pretend it is a new match, and not let up but keep staying aggressive. Still playing a match at a time and enjoying herslef. Very good balance.

But what would be the most strange doubles-team?
Hantuchova with Casanova :) :) :)
