To make things clear, I hear a lot of people complaining about scheduling of courts, many people assume that court 18 or something will be bad, but it is not. Here is a summary of the size of courts

Centre Court
V
Court 1
V
Court 2
V
Court 3, Court 13, Court 18
V
Court 19

Also not to mention many players play in court 13 or court 18 before, only players with superstar status (ie Agassi, Sampras etc...) will be exempt off from playing any court other than Court 2 and above. :wavey:

Correct me if there is some mistake, but I think this is a pretty good indication of size of courts

You are correct. Although I don't think Court 19 is treated differently compared to the other outside courts, at least it's not bigger than them.

This is from the official website:

Court Capacity
Centre Court has 13,810 seats
No.1 Court has 11,429 seats
No.2 Court has 2,220 seats and has standing room for 770
No.3 Court has 800 seats
No.5 Court has 108 seats
Nos 6 & 7 Courts have 250 seats each.
No.11 Court has 224 seats.
No.13 Court has two temporary stands seating 1,541
No.14 to No. 17 Courts have 318 seats each
No.18 Court has 782 seats
No.19 Court has two temporary stands seating 306.

I always thought tennis courts were meant to be a standard size? Surely if you played on a really small court then lots of your shots would go out, and on a big one they'd all go in? At least all the courts appear to be symmetrical.

lmao controlfreak.. you should read better before posting a comment like that.

We're talking about the number of seats around a court..not the size of the tennisfield

Court 18 is actually very new, and has flash new scoreboard. Also its in a hole, so its not effected by wind. The only problem is shadows, but I would think after court 2 this is the next in line.

looking at those numbers, i'd say wimbledon seriously needs to consider increasing the size of their show courts "somehow".

How do these allocations compare with the other Grand Slams? Looks to me like Wimbledon should make an effort to increase the capacity of their courts instead of allocating loads of space to fancy eateries/Media Centres/VIP lounges etc.

yeah sorry about the court 19, I thought it was sort of a mini show court but obviously not ;)
