It looks to be Paradorn here for STAR ASIA sports.
Hewitt's match isn't on till 13:00 hrs, and live coverage
starts in 19 minutes.

Just curious to see how everyone's WIMBLEDON is being

VJ use to boast about being the highest ranked
Asian male tennis player in history, right? Well....
I hope he's humbled a bit since Paradorn is officially
the highest ranked male Asian tennis player in history.

We shall see if VJ tones down the arrogance this year.

Cross our fingers!!

Jun 23rd, 2003, 11:53 AM
To all residents in Singapore.

Channel 22 SUPER SPORTS will
be showing the Italian Open WTA event
on at the sametime as WIMBLEDON. So, if the
matches stink or VJ is boorish just change your
channels. 7 pm and 10 pm Today, Tues,
and I think Wednesday. :)

childs versus davydenko. boring. we have freeview, but the picture is so bad that interactive isn't working. i remember last year now - they showed the women more on freeview, and mainly men (and british men) on regular BBC.

they need to quit the Childs match NOW and only come back if something like a comeback happens

Jun 23rd, 2003, 01:53 PM
Paradorn vs Hrbaty.... :( :) :(

Jun 23rd, 2003, 02:02 PM
Paradorn vs Hrbaty on Star sports here in indonesia... i don't understand why i have chinese commentaries on the channel  anyways i hope they show angie or davenport next...

Jun 23rd, 2003, 02:09 PM
You've got Chinese commentary? I'm sure it's
better than VJ , and that idiot who usually calls
Rugby and Cricket matches doing the English version.

First they said that it should be over; but DH keeps on
playing better and better. lol. Poor Paradorn; VJ
fawning over him has jinxed him.

Jun 23rd, 2003, 02:10 PM
i hate malta/EUROSPORT

Jun 23rd, 2003, 02:15 PM
yeah i figured that one out earlier Greenout, lol i really hated those VJ commentaries last year at the US open, not forgetting his dumbass partner nuripani, something like that... some indian girl who's just as annoying as he is..

Jun 23rd, 2003, 02:17 PM
I hate the chinese comentators at STAR sports
Very noisy!!!!!! :fiery:  :fiery:
Paradorn vs. Hrbaty is very boring :o

Jun 23rd, 2003, 02:32 PM
Hey, what happened to Hewitt? Didn't they go to
center court?

For all of you lucky people who aren't watching WIMBLEDON from somewhere in Southeast Asia,
let me tell you what VJ Amitraj's commentary
sounds like. Imagine if you will a middle aged
Indian man who has a pretentious, snotty tone
with odd British speech inflections that dithers, and
talks way too much who tends to gush, and fawn
over famous names. Had enough? I'll stop now.

Jun 23rd, 2003, 04:55 PM
greenout, if vijay is bad, u should try listening to that indian girl nirupama. she is worse! she is damn prejudiced against certain players like the spanish claycourters and she only like capriati.
they did go to hewitt, when paradorn finished his 5setter and hewitt was abt to lose...
i think i need to switch the mute button on if i listen to vijay somemore

Jun 23rd, 2003, 04:57 PM
oh, and i actually like the chinese commentators on starsports(when we used to have them)
they are more informative than 2 certain indians called vijay and nirupama

Jun 23rd, 2003, 06:23 PM
Yes, Niru was on tonight with her pathetic
backhanded compliments about Ai Sugiyama.

"She's not that impressive of a player, but she's
got the experience".

"I would say her game is efficient"
