Poor Evie with that first round match up. I'm hoping she is able to pull an upset as she seems to be playing a lot better than she was earlier in the year.

Very bad draw.

If only she had been placed one rung down, where we see Antonella Serra-Zanetti v Conchita Martinez Granados...pffffffff

Anyway, getting Vera on grass is much much better than drawing her on any other surface, but it's still going to be over in straight sets...to Evie's credit, she's got the ability to snare a set or make it tough, but she just lacks the firepower to overcome Vera.

If she can get her serve goin and can play aggressive she could pull off an upset but i tipping 5 games for Evie!

So after 3 Wimbledon appearances in the main draw she has managed a grand total of 9 games...in fairness to her though, she has had shocking draws

2001 - Huber 36 26
2002 - S.Williams 16 16
2003 - Zvonareva 06 26

She says she just had a shocker of a day and I hope she can pick things up a bit in the next few weeks. Nothing to defend til October at least :)

Have to admit she hasn't copped a break with the draws she has had a Wimbeldon. Hopefully next year it will be kinder to her.
