There is a point where they can't do that anymore. I thought it was still early enough where they could...but I guess not.

Eggy knows all the deadlines, maybe he can explain it.

you're not the only one but i'm guessing the Slams have their own criteria for doing stuff

they don't follow the WTA GUIDELINES (below)

iii. 96 and 128 Main draws (32 Seeds)

c) If the withdrawal is among seeds five (5) through
eight (8), the ninth (9th) seed fills the open seed
position, and the thirteenth (13th) seed takes the
ninth (9th) seeded position. The seventeenth
(17th) seed takes the thirteenth (13th) seeded
position, and the twenty-fifth (25th) seed takes the
seventeenth (17th) seeded position. The next
player to be seeded will take the open twenty-fifth
(25th) seeded position. The next eligible player
into the draw takes the remaining position created
by this move.

Wimbledon act in their own little world

That is why the draw is done so early

That is why you have 5 set matches in Mens doubles Qualies

They just replace seeds they never move them around

In the mens they are now up to 34 seed
If Alex pulls out it will be 35!!!!

According to someone in Gerenal Messages, Alex Correjta pulled out of Wimbeldon.

Did he? I thought it was just speculation?

he has pulled out as he no longer will play Henman

he was gonna come back just to play on Centre Court, but Marat withdrew making him 34th seed, and he doesn't wanna play in some "shithole"

I don't understand this either.

I thought they would do it like Eggy explained, because they did the same at Roland Garros last year (?).

I thought Grand Slams were consistent in their ruling, but obviously they are not.

It's also interesting that as recently as today, they shuffled men around when Safin withdrew, but they didn't do anything for the women. So does Wimbledon have 2 different sets of rules for men and women?

They didn't shuffle anything around when Safin withdrew.

Much like they replaced Mauresmo with Kuznetsova, they replaced Safin with Corretja, and then replaced Corretja with Stepanek once Corretja withdrew.

And there would have been no shuffling with Safin anyway, since Safin is seeded 18. Mauresmo is seeded 6.

But thats what wimbledon do and thats why we love them ;)

I just love the way they can just move tim's seeding up to tenth because of his calibre on grass lol.

I dont think Kuznetsova will get to the 4th rd, she'll probably be upset by someone like Cho.

I hope being with your newborn is more important than playing in some shithole. :p ;)

Who else has withdrawn cause Arantxa Parra has another LL-spot ?
(Seda took Sveta's place, right ?)

Why don't the Wimbledon-officials accept the regulations of the the WTA, can't they be fined for that ????????

Wimbledon getting fined by whom ?? the WTA ?

they have no jurisdiction on what the Committee does in these events.
the Grand Slams are run by the Grand Slam Committee under the ITF Flagship

the only way they will change the ways will be by Player Power.

Thanks Judio & Eggy ! :)

... and the players each have their own opinions on that issue.
No change.
