Vera Douchevina (seeded #1; pro ranking #247; junior ranking #1)

vs.

Anna-Lena Groenefeld (seeded #2; pro ranking #270; junior ranking #6)

IMO they have 50/50 chances to win this tournament. Vera is a better overall player, but Anna-Lena is a better clay court player.

SO, who would you like to win?

lol...wishful thinking then ;)

Oh I just thought she was going to play Wimbledon qualies (with a WC, is that correct?) and figured she wouldn't play juniors.

well, juniors will be played during the second week, so she would still have a chance to qualify, get to the 4th rd, losing there (in pros) and then winning juniors. it would be an awesome tournament for her, right? :D

this is last tournament for Anna-Lena......
if she loses this, i can somehow see
her retiring soon......and i'm serious....:(
so i hope she can at least win this
and try playing some more tournaments,
also, i'm hoping for Michaela to win that
#1 ranking in junior this yr..:)

Anna-Lena retiring??? LMAO - this week she signed a 4-year-contracxt with her new coach Rafael Font de Mora (also Meghann Shaughnessy's coach) A-L isn't thinking of her career end! :D

yeah right....that's great...:)
then nevermind then, but what other reason is there for her to be still
playing junior events other than she is having confidence problems,
shouldnt she start playing more senior events?
i'm hoping she is gonna hold up to
the expectations for her in Germany.......

GO ANNA-LENA............WIN THIS FOR GERMANY....:)

Anna-Lena is already playing Senior-events
she is just playing Roland Garros and Wimbledon

next week she is commited to play Hamilton/Canada 25 K Challenger(crazy schedule)
then Lenzerheide/Switzerland 25K
and then Wimbledon Juniors

maybe you expect too much from her

and A-L turned 18 last week, and so she still had AER
but i´m sure you never heared about AER

and A-L turned 18 last week, and so she still had AER
but i´m sure you never heared about AER
but i thought after 18 she can play unlimited tournaments.......
isnt it?.......
"An 18-year-old may play an unlimited number of Sanex WTA Tour/ ITF Women’s Circuit events plus the season-ending Championships. "

this is where i'm confused.......
if you are 18.....can u still play junior events?.......
i thought the 18th birthday is the last day allowed for entries,
or is it the 19th brithday?
