BUDAPEST (AP) - Former French Open champion Iva Majoli beat Andreea Vanc of Romania 4-6, 7-5, 7-5 Wednesday to advance to the second round of the Budapest Grand Prix.
The top-seeded Majoli overcame a loss in the first set and a 0-5 deficit in the third to advance.
Second-seeded Magui Serna of Spain, coming off a victory at the Estoril Open last week, advanced with a 6-4, 6-2 victory over Angelika Roesch of Germany, and third-seeded Alicia Molik of Australia beat Stephanie Cohen-Aloro of France 6-1, 6-2.
