Here is Bunker's Home town of Orange, New Jersey:

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v454/FrogBurger/OrangeNJ.jpg

There are not so many photos on google about Orange. there is also west orange and East Orange. East Orange is in transition, Some areas are a bit rough in East Orange but i think things are improving. West Orange is richer and preppier. Main Street Orange is very pretty but i cant find photos.

This if Bay Ridge, the last place we lived in the United States before immigrating to France:

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v454/FrogBurger/bayridge.jpg

Bay ridge is in brooklyn, across the hudson (the channel really) from Staten Island. New York City is comprised of Manhattan, Brooklyn, Bronx, Queens and Staten Island. opting for more affordable housing and a bit more quiet, me and my wife chose brooklyn to live in. there is great restaurants, shopping and walking, and fishing in the river and ocean. I LUV NY.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v454/FrogBurger/bayridgefishin2.jpg

This is the fishing pier. it was only 5 minute drive and a 15 minute bike from where we lived. Often after work id hike on over with my fishing pole, and catch large bluefish. so much fun. When i see this photo it reminds me of when the Coast Guard was where the large boat, the Staten Island Ferry is now in the photo, in the days after we were struck.

Here is another photo taken from the newly built fishing pier. so much fun is had on this pier. I took my wife to fish there some times when she was pregnant with my son, and yes she caught plenty of little fish and yes, we put them back in the water unharmed

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v454/FrogBurger/bayridgefishing.jpg

more of bay ridge, here the Verrazano bridge is in sight:

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v454/FrogBurger/bayridge.jpg

this looks like an old photo of Bay Ridge Brooklyn, judging by the 70's looking cars:

You guys are cheating. I only posted my local places, close to my heart. the United States is so grand and diverse that it is not fair to show pictures of the canyon, Hawaiiwan waves, etc..
But here is a place in New Jersey dear to my heart. All Jerseyians know and love the Delaware Water Gap. it is an extremely impressive geological site. I believe it is interesting geologically because of its glacial geological implications. it is where the glacial runoff came spilling out. it used the gap used to be much further north, yada yada ya.. i forget most of it. the gap was a fishing site for the native americans due to the enormous amounts of large herring, called Shad that would come up river to spawn and then die. it fed the indians, the bears, migrating birds etc. and the dramatic colours during fall are outstanding. The gap is amazing, lots of canoeyer and kayakers and rafters come up there to enjoy.. i took several friends from overseas there to checkitout, and ive never been let down.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v454/FrogBurger/Gap.jpg

Map of my Home State

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v454/FrogBurger/nJmap.gif

The Jersey Shore, maybe not reknowned for its bitchen waves, but they sure do the job. Jersey shore rocks for belly surfing too. But look out the guys are muscular and in shape so if you are self-conscious, maybe best to stay off the beach.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v454/FrogBurger/newjersey.jpg

Some of my home girls

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v454/FrogBurger/jersey_girls_lg1.jpg

Jersey girls, the cutest most kindest and caring girls in the nation:

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v454/FrogBurger/jersey-girls1.jpg

Great Adventure, the largest and greatest amusement park in the world, it features an animal safari. it rules, tons of young people having a totally awesome time under the summer sun:

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v454/FrogBurger/GreatAdventure.jpg

Hidden Valley offers some good skiing, some of the best machine produced powder, and a nice ski lodge to sit back and share some coffee and get out of the cold. New Jersey is not very mountainous, but we got skiing, you can do just about anything in the Garden State :) :) :)

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v454/FrogBurger/hiddenvalley.jpg

New Jersey Devils Hockey is always an attraction (when hockey is not cancelled do to disagreements over finances)

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v454/FrogBurger/DevilsHockey.jpg

No posts about New Jersey would be complete without mention of the Mall - pronouced Maaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaawwwwwwwwwwwwwwwl by the natives, we aparently have a funny accent, but i neva noticed it.

Um, are you really American? I dont see why you needed to harsh on America, the thread was only about showing nice things about your home country, not bashing your own country. Of course, i was only representing New Jersey and Bay Ridge, Brooklyn, but surely there are hundreds of cool places that could have been represented.

Was only joking ;) But it was just meant to show that...we Americans think we are the best and everything...but I mean really, the world has a lot more to offer, take Finland and Austria for example.
