Tatiana had FIFTEEN double-faults???

I hadn't realized how leary Lina is of approaching the net, either. Just SIX net approaches in over 2 hours! And those were probably to retrieve a Panova-dropshot.

In any case, whatever and however she did it, Lina overcame a big hurdle today. Congrats to her! Hope it's the start of something big!

Lina does come in more on other surfaces but thats mainly to put ball away, her volleyes have improved but her movement around the net still looks suspect.
4 of Lina's DF's were in 1st set, good thing she cut them out :D :)

Thanks, eggy, I was hoping you would answer that post, because I suddenly relzied that I am unfamiliar with Lina's game, and I was hoping you could clarify that stat for me. :)

Cutting out those DFs was huge for Lina. Once a player starts with them, you usually see them continue throughout a match (like poor Tatiana!). But Lina corrected it in time; a very, very good sign. :) :) :)

:o

Well at least the 2nd set was close! :D

It might be too much for Lina to take out two compatriots in a row right now. But after a terrible 1-6 start, at least she gathered herself and fought hard in the 2nd.

Given her draw, not a bad week for Lina, though of course we always want to see more. :hearts:
