Congrats Serena! :D
I hope Justine beats her in the final, but to be realistic, I don't think she will.

I'm not about to start doubting Serena, but she will have to work harder than ever tomorrow. Justine is a clay expert and knows what needs to be done. I think Serena will win in 3 sets.

Go Serena :bounce: :bounce: :bounce:

Serena's flawless play in the 1st set and Lindsay's charge in the 2nd made this a fun match to watch. Way to hang in there, Lindsay! Congratulations, Serena!

Serena Williams beat third seed Lindsay Davenport 6-1 7-5 to progress to the final of the $1.3m WTA event in Charleston, South Carolina.

Williams, playing on clay for the first time this year, maintained her unbeaten record in 2003 in a one-sided contest against her American rival.

The world number one was untouchable in the first set winning 6-1 before taking a 3-1 lead in the second over Davenport, one of the few players on the circuit who can match her for sheer power.

But she then finally lost her serve and allowed Davenport to level at 4-4.

Williams stepped up the pace again and broke to lead 6-5. Davenport had two break points in the next game, but Williams aced her on both occasions.

Williams sent down another ace to reach match point and then finished it off with a crosscourt forehand winner.

Playing Williams on Sunday will be Belgium's Justine Henin-Hardenne, who beat Ashley Harkleroad 6-2 6-1.

Henin-Hardenne, ranked fourth in the world, used powerful serving and a relentless backhand to end Harkleroad's run.

The 17-year-old American beat three seeded players on her way to her first WTA Tour semi-final.

Harkleroad looked as if she might make it four wins over seeded players early on, taking the first game at love. But Henin-Hardenne, playing this event for the first time, soon gained control.

Great match! It's amazing how Serena continues to pump herself up in each and every match and encourage herself to go all out, like she did in that first set

for awhile there it really looked like Rena would win 6-1 6-1
but nice comeback by Lindsay, and Serena started to make errors

Serena amazed me with her returns on Lindsay's serve!! Wow!

I think even though Henin is the clay specialist, Lindsay is the tougher opponent.

Serena 6/3 6/2 over Henin tommorrow.

i agree as well, i say Justine has the better shot on the red clay, seeing the ball is a lot slower, but hey, serena says she like the red clay better than the green. today, serena was just killing the serves, and yes the green clay slows the ball down dramatically, and seeing that Lindsay serve is WAY better than justine's we should see justine struggle the entire day tomorrow.

Agreed. If Serena comes out even 75% of what she was like in that first set and continues through out the match, I think Juju may get blown away! Don't get me wrong, Justine is a talented player, but I think Serena is learning Justine's game with each match. If Justine's serve is off she may have a hard time struggling to hold. I do think we'll see some exciting points from both sides though. It's on Serena's raquet but anything can happen on any gievn day. I don't think Justine is consistant enough off the ground for Serena.

Serena simply raises her game at the key points. Her fighting qualities is just unbeatable.
