Amélie only decided to enter the tournament in late March. (Please see post in the Amélie cheering thread! ;) ) I guess that she will have asked for a 'wildcard' - which is why they say she had not entered 'until now'! :D

If anyone can translate this, it'd be greatly appreciated! :) (I gather Amélie's entered the tourney ;))

WTA Warszawa: Mauresmo wystąpi w J&S Cup
16.04.2003 12:54

Chęć przyjazdu do Warszawy zgłosiły także m.in. Słowaczka Daniela Hantuchova (9. w WTA), Jelena Dokic z Serbii i Czarnogóry (11.) czy broniąca tytułu Rosjanka Jelena Bowina (18.).

W poniedziałek, 14 kwietnia, ruszyła przedsprzedaż biletów i karnetów na warszawski turniej. Wszelkie informacje można znaleźć na stronie internetowej: www.jandscup.pl.

Well, Kremer's injury opens another slot. BTW, why no WC for Pole Maggie Grzybowska? (Is she still injured)? Given the erratic play of Jeca and Dani, Venus having been recently rumored 2B out injured till Eastbourne, AND the 700K purse this year, you bet other "serious contenders" have 2B salivating about this event!
