Yup, I visited the Petronas Towers last year. Amazing!

Though there are taller buildings around such as the CN Tower in Toronto and any number of giant radio towers. They are not counted because they are not office blocks (basically).

Also, it depends on whether you count those spires and things on top. The nature of the Petronas Towers is such that they do count it, whereas they don't count it on some of the American buildings which may really be bigger. I think that if they put the Petronas Towers beside the Sears Building in Chicago the latter might actually look like the taller building.

All the same, the Petronas Towers are breathtaking. They feature in a movie whose name I'm trying to remember. Someone help me out......hang on....Entrapment.

Holds 3 out of 4 world's tallest titles:
Tallest building including antenna
Highest roof
Highest occupied floor.

Yes, this thread is very misleading. Sears is larger, but the Petronas hold the title because of those darned antennas.

The Petronas are very oddly shaped. They are two Sqaures, intertwined, with a circle in between the points and one large circle at one end. Definitely weird.

The two squares, interwined is Islamic and they put a cirlce between the points.

Hi oggie :wavey:

Yes the Malayasians are buildibg the tallest buiding in Balakan and it is in SARAJEVO.

The two building will be 117 m and they should be finished at the ned of this year.

They are called BOSMAL and if you want more information:

http://www.bosmal.com

--------------------------------------------------------------
We are proud to present you with a unique project initiated in our city - building of Bosmal City Center.Project's signature characteristics are contemporary building style, the large investment it entails and numerous qualitative facilities the Center will offer to residents, business owners and visitors. Space that is organized in a contemporary manner, the spectrum of services intended for residents and visitors of business and entertainment sections in Bosmal City Center, altogether provide a new way of living in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

From the type of object Bosmal City Center will help both directly and indirectly, in resolving zoning and infrastructure problems known to this part of the city. Promenade streched throughout the Center will be connecting a city transit road with a traffiic road in Hrasno area and communal connection capacities will increase and will be renewed. There are also plans developed for building a new bridge on Miljacka River to make access to the area easier. Our Malaysian friends have given us an immense opportunity to prove our capabilities and capabilities of Bosnian -Herzegovinian contractors and material & equipment producers.

I would especially emphasise the trust manifested by the Malaysian Bank Islam (L) Ltd., who enabled the actualization of this project. Friendship and benevolance shown toward Bosnia and Herzegovina by Malaysia with supprt Malaysian goverment provides for business cooperation of these two countries is best seen when the Prime Minister dr. Mahathir bin Mohamed, along with BH presidency member dr.Halid Genjac, attended the formal ceremony of signing the credit contract for this project in Kuala Lumpur on March 20th, year 2001. We would also hereby express our gratitude to all state instituitions of Bosnia and Herzegovina who readily supported the realization of this project. We believe that Bosmal City Center will become a symbol of a whole new era i development of a modern Bosnia and Herzegovina and its economy!
