That being Iva (defeated today by resurging Elena D): 3-6, 7-5, 6-1
and Patty (defeated yesterday by Vera): 6-2, 4-6, 6-4
Anyone know how these losses will affect next week's rankings?

Since they switched the dates of the FCC and AI this year, the points from the 02 FCC won't come off until next week. But when they do, here you go (rough estimate as other players can earn points and pass them both):
Patty was 13, Iva was 32.

Iva will be really hurt by the loss

It's not appropriate to do ranking calculations yet. Both players could have a big run next week and make it all (or most) back. Unlikely, but we should see what happens at AI/budapest before we talk of their rankings.
Also, I think Patty will be losing more points than Iva. not sure if I'm remembering this correctly, but I think Patty collected so many bonus points just because of who she beat that her total exceeded Iva's, even though Majoli took the title.

You're right on all accounts KL. :wavey:
But those #s are where they would be today.

In fact,I think Iva's loss is predictable.

that's too bad because they're both talented, are able to give the top players fits and quite comfortable on clay. i was hoping as well to see a rematch between serena and schnyder or see the power match-up of serena vs. majoli.
