3rd round predictions?

Well, I had a 72% success rate in the 2nd round and predicted upsets by Black, Gagliardi, Serna, Reeves and Ruano Pascual. Here's how I think the 3rd round will go:

(1) Clijsters v (31) Schiavone - Kim didn't look that good against Zuluaga, but I don't see her losing here

(17) Farina Elia v (15) Dechy - tough match, I'm going with Nat as she's had a better year so far

(10) Maleeva v (21) Sugiyama - another close one, I have to say I think Ai will keep her winning run going

Kostanic v (8) Rubin - Jelena's had a good run but it will come to an end here

(3) Hantuchova v (27) Srebotnik - Dani was pretty impressive in her first match, this will be tougher but she should have enough to go through

(18) Raymond v (16) Coetzer - Lisa won easily when they met in the Memphis final, but something tells me Amanda will get her revenge

Black v Gagliardi - Cara is in good form and her win over Pistolesi will give her even more confidence. She'll win here

(26) Martinez v Rittner - Barbara had an excellent win over Dokic that I didn't see coming, but I don't think she'll make it 2 upsets in a row

(5) Mauresmo v (29) Tanasugarn - Amelie is my tip to win this tournament, so I'm not going to bet against her!

Serna v Widjaja - I'm going for Magui to win, but it'll be close

(13) Bovina v Reeves - Elena should have no trouble provided she keeps her concentration

(25) Likhovtseva v (4) Davenport - with the way Lindsay's been playing, Elena may think she has a good chance here, but I think Lindsay will get it together and win comfortably

Kuznetsova v Zvonareva - Sveta's marginally the better player at the moment, so I'll go with her

(23) Shaughnessy v (12) Daniilidou - I really have no idea, I'll go with Eleni but only because she's the higher ranked player!

(14) Dementieva v Ruano Pascual - Elena had all kinds of problems against Benesova. If she plays like that again here she'll lose. But I don't think she will

Chladkova v (2) Capriati - I would be shocked if Jenn lost here. She wasn't at her best against Serra Zanetti but her power will prove too much for Denisa

Hopefully, at least 2 of your predictions are not going to happen. ;)

Kim's match agains Fabi was the worse so far.. I hope she can win this time.. Schiavone had not done that good either.. playing tight match against Golovin :o So i think Kim should win :bounce:

Like I've said.. I want to see Kim vs Dechy.. So Dechy shpuld win and must win :mad: lol

(10) Maleeva v (21) Sugiyama

I predicted that Maggie lost to Cohen.. and this time.. she wil llose to Ai.. (Ai is the next top 16 players...)

Kostanic v (8) Rubin

Rubin should win this time.. Kinda shock to see she is in the third round but this time Rubin will win.. Rubin vs Ai would be good ;)

(3) Hantuchova v (27) Srebotnik

Dani showed an impressive performance yesterday.. so this time she hsould win in 2!! :bounce:

(18) Raymond v (16) Coetzer

It'd going to be the match-to-watch.. Both are veteran players.. Both just played the final not so long ago.. I'll gibe edge to Coetzer to win.. Coetzer in 3

Black v Gagliardi

Manu showed a better performance when she played against Panova.. black is not bad either.. beating Anna :) But Manu needs this win to creek her rank .. so Manu in 3

(26) Martinez v Rittner

I was shocked that Rittner beat Dokic.. she was know to beat a better player.. So this time She should be able to win :o

(5) Mauresmo v (29) Tanasugarn

Momo should win.. but Tammy is my fav.. but i guess Momo can win.. sorry nick :o

Serna v Widjaja
Angie should win seeing her performance against Patty.. :D

(13) Bovina v Reeves

Reeves had done her best.. so i'd be happy if she can beat her.. but i guess she won't :o

(25) Likhovtseva v (4) Davenport

Davenport in 2... :o

Kuznetsova v Zvonareva -

I like both players :o.. It could go either way.. But i'd give Sveta the edge since she beat Myskina :p

I reall had no idea bout this one.. both agains are my fav players.. but i would give Meghann the edge simple she American :o
