Can Irvin pull the "upset" over Alex? Irvin has to be playing well, as she qualifed, while Alex has been in a slump. Alex has lost 7 of her last 10 matches.

irvin has the game to win and she has beaten henin before. both these players are quite similar. they both have big games and are both very inconsistent. irvin has a bit more speed and a bit less power in the serve although she can match stevenson in power. in the past she has played with just as much power.

i want irvin to get in the top 50 but one win won't do that and i want stevenson to get back to the top 20. i think stevenson would have more of a chance against serena but i doubt she would win.

this one is hard to call. i think it will be a three setter unless stevnson is on and then it would be 2 quickish sets.

I pick Irvin. I didn't see Alex play thouh, only practice for a bit. Irvin though is playing great tennis. Lindsay Lee played an excellent match gainst her today. Lindsay went for her shots, hit the lines, and Irvin played a great tactical match. She knew when to hit deep, when to go for it, etc. She really made Lindsay overhit quite a few times. She can do the same to Alex.

They are doubles partners for this week also. They've known each other since they were young. They used to play against each other a lot, especially in the junior California circuit along with Venus and Serena. I say that Alex will beat Marissa in 3 sets.

I want Marissa to win this one, I think she's by far the better player, even though the rankings won't show it.
Go Marissa!

Go Alexandra Stevenson...

You will be a good player if you win this match then get rid of the designated #3 player in the final.
