I vaguely remember a Hingis match once that had that score, maybe I am wrong. I think every score combination possible must have happened at some point!

The ITF reported matches show that Martina had NEVER had a scoreline like that.

On the men's side Agassi and Berasategui almost had a scoreline like that when they played in Cincinnati in 1995 and split the first two sets, 6-0, 0-6. But then Agassi won the decider 6-2, so no luck there I'm afraid.

There was a thread asking this a few months ago...

Someone found it and it was in some obscure challenger in Vietnam or India - somewhere in SE Asia.

I always think of this one score in Wimbledon Quallies in 98 I think - Sonya Jeyaseelan won 6/0, 0/6, 12/10

comical

I think that match with Martina was against Dragomirova in FO, but it wasn't 6/0, 0/6, 6/0 but something close to it.

i remember dragomir won 2nd set 6-0 and lead 1-0 in the 3rd, but Hingis won the 3rd 6-1

so probably something like 6-2, 0-6, 6-1

Ohmygod I can't believe I am doing this.

The Hingis Dragomir score. 6-3 0-6 6-1

Quite a common scoreline in doubles, but I can't ever remember seeing a singles match like that

Martina also had this result

2002 - Scottsdale QF W Daja BEDANOVA (CZE) 6-4 0-6 6-3

She also won matches against S.Williams and M.Maleeva after dropping the first set 0-6. I think that's it for the wins where she was bagled in one set.

There was an early grand slam match (can't remember exactly when or where) with a 6-0 0-6 6-0 score. Check the Blast from the past section (go to Grand Slam results) and see if you can find it there:)

There was a match close to that at the Australian Open this year in the first round of doubles. Kournikova/Rubin def. Stevenson/Webb 0-6 6-0 6-2.

1927 must have been the year for odd scores. In the Cannes Final, Henri Cochet def. Jacques Brugnon 1-6 6-1 6-0 1-6 6-0. During this time, it was not unusual for male players to totally tank a set when they got behind, and save their energy for the next one.

As far as I can tell, Gwen Sterry had a one-handed backhand, just like her mother (Charlotte) and cousin (Valerie Cooper). At least, there was no reference to her having a 2-hander. It would have been quite unique in those days (not to mention damn tough to execute with the restrictive clothing). :)
