'Idol' contestant booted for working for adult Web site
By Gary Levin, USA TODAY

Frenchie Davis, the full-figured brassy-voiced American Idol semifinalist from Washington, D.C., has been eliminated from Fox's talent competition after she acknowledged she worked for an adult Web site four years ago.

Frenchie Davis will be replaced on a show airing Feb. 25.

Fox said she'll be replaced on a show airing Feb. 25. But co-producer 19 Entertainment, which signs Idol winners to recording contracts, says it will "endeavor to do all in its power to help Frenchie further her music career."

Another Idol finalist, Jaered Andrews, was replaced earlier for undisclosed reasons.

What a *fool* she is! She didn't think they were going to a do background check.

Why? Most shows do not. An actor in soft-core pornographic films won Survivor Thailand. One of the finalists on Joe Millionaire has done quite a number of foot fetish and bondage movies, though always clothed. Some of them feature not only her feet, but her feet dirty, or muddy.

Well, there's no reason left to care about this show anymore since she's gone.

I don't see why she should have been booted. What does working for an adult website have to do with her singing? The only thing I can think of is if they wanted people who never had any previous media experience or she just flat out lied about it. Sounds like a bunch of Politically Correct hypocrites at work.

At least her parents weren't supporting her decision to sell her ass to the media, like a famous tennis player that I know. Same thing and sex sells. :)

AI, has stupid rules.

Wow......she was the clear winner. EVERYONE I know wanted her to win.

Bye bye ratings :wavey:

I don't understand. Why has she been "booted"? What has some job she had four years ago in the sex industry got to do with it? It sounds like either absurd prudishness or absurd political correctness to me. People should protest.

They may well have a legal right to do it, of course, if she contractually warranted that she has done nothing in her past that could bring them into disrepute. But, even so, this seems to me like an abuse of their rights. Is no one to be allowed to do anything once they have been involved with the sex industry in some way? If so, why?

Dawn Marie, why bring Venus into this? ;)
