Head TO Head Record

Iroda leads 2:1

2000 Japan Open Hard (O) 32 Tamarine TANASUGARN 6-3 6-2
2000 Shanghai Hard (O) SF Iroda TULYAGANOVA 6-1 6-4
2002 14th Asian Games Hard (O) F Iroda TULYAGANOVA 6-1 6-3

I really love both girls and want they play great tennis tomorrow. The head to head record may favor to Iroda because the last meeting Iroda defeated Tammy very easy in 14th 2002 Asian Games in Korea. But at that time Tammy's been playing injured her finger (She broken her finger in left hand) and it was bothering her when she hitted backhand shot. Iroda has a great serve and good top spin forehand. It's hard to beat her if she play well. Tammy has consistent ground stroke both forehand and backhand, she is looking forward to win her first title after failed 5 times in her carrier. I think it's going to be a tough match tomorrow.

Good luck to both girls. Hope they play good tennis for the title.

Iroda's a great girl. I know Tammy likes her a lot, but dammit, Lil' Sis...you CANNOT be friends on the court! Show us some KILLER instincts in the final!!!!!!! Don't let Paradorn grab ALL the limelight in Thailand! (Just kidding)

Feb 8th, 2003, 12:02 AM
Go Iroda!!!

Feb 8th, 2003, 01:00 AM
LOL Rose;). I agree, Tammy will need her killer instinct for this match. We know she can do it. It will mean a lot to her if she can get this title. Tammy is 0-5 in finals, but she has played Seles in two of these(ranked 9) - Japan and Doha, Lisa Raymond - Birmingham (ranked 21) and Smashnova(pistolesi)(now ranked 15) - Canberra. I just feel Tulyaganova isn't really at the calibar at the moment that these players were when they played Tammy. Although Iroda is having a very good run, I think Tammy wants a title more that anything so I think she will come out winner. Don't get me wrong though, Iroda has a good chance to win.
GO TAMMY GO!:bounce::kiss:
Have a great match girls:hearts::D:D:bounce:

Hey Benny,

This is Tammy's sixth times in the final. I think you forgot to add one of Pattaya final.

1996 Volvo Women Open Final Ruxandra Dragomir(ROM) d. Tammy 7-6,6-4

Tammy, I know you don't like Iroda's top spin forehand, but I believe that you can do your best out there. Just try and try your best and you'll make it through.

I'd love to see you hold the throphy!!

Feb 8th, 2003, 05:20 AM
I remembered it Jiro, but I thought that I would point out that Tammy has lost to very good players ranked in top 20 in 4 out of the 5 finals.:)

Feb 8th, 2003, 05:30 AM
Tammy should come to net when Iroda makes a high top spin ball, the way Tammy did to destroy Jidkova's game plan(make a high top spin ball) in Aus open last month.
