Ummm.. this is tough cause lina is playing great, but monica is better in my opionion, i love lina, and i love monica too. These are my two favorite players, so its really hard, but im going Monica ALL THE WAY. But since Seles is injured, lina might take a set

I'd be surprised if Lina wins after 3 3-setters in a row in just 3 days

I hope Lina wins, but realistically it's Monica's

I like both players also. I'll take a chance and say I think Lina can pull this off. She'll have a boost in her confidence from beating Elena B and with Monica's mobility being diminished I don't see why she can't exploit that.

Monica and Lina played each other in WTT a couple of years ago with a healthy Monica winning. However, Lina was nervous and once she settled down she started playing better. I so wish I could watch this match but I'll have to settle for wishes of good luck to both girls with just a bit more to Lina.

If Lina isn't uptight she will push Monica. But this is the type of situation that Monica thrives on pulling through.

I don't see Lina winning unless Monica is still hampered by her injury and Lina is able to stay calm and move her around. But Lina can very easily make it close.

Lina-Monica - 20%-80%. I.e. Monica will win 4 out of 5 such matches.

If she was nervous in an exhibition then she'll be twice as nervous here

If Seles was 100% OK, she will win easy, but now Lina maybe can win in 3 sets , ihope!

i bet monica will win....she is just lacking some confidence....and her ankle is being worked on by her trainer and wta staff...she'll be fine...i just hope when she makes it to the finals...its dokic and not lindsay and monica is ready to fire on both cylinders....if she is feeling 100%, even lindsay better look out....i just dont like lindsay....esp when she is pitted against monica.....

i would like lina to. lina might get tired from her long matches but monica also has the ankle problem. if lina's serve is working today then she can really trouble monica and if someone like koukalova could exploit monica's injury then i'm pretty sure lina could but then again ai couldn't but i still think lina is more capable of doing so than ai.

She does so, earthcrystal. Even too recently for you to have possibly forgotten. Tokyo, October 2000, less than 2 and a half years ago? Surely you don't expect us to believe you've forgotten that already? And even though Monica was supposedly "injured" she was back playing as though nothing was wrong only 6 weeks later. :rolleyes:

One match, in let me see 3 years, that is a lot of withdraws.
