I read that stat on some sports site this morning and I was like "whoa!". Well when certain players get on a roll it's hard to stop them. I wonder if we're ever gonna have it like 1999 and 1998 again where the 4 Grand Slams were won by 4 different ppl.

We may not see four different players sharing the slams for quite a while.
Looking for 3 players to share the slams is a lot more likely.

Things always come in cycles. Who knows.

This is a kind of a repeat of '90-AO '93 more or less. From '90 to AO '93 only 4 players won the combined 13 slams held during that time (Sabatini and Navratilova won 1 apiece, Graf won 3 and Seles swept the rest). Mark's right about the cycles. Clijsters will probably be the first new slam winner since Capriati 2 years ago. Not sure if it will happen this year or next though.

actually, 11 slams played since Wimbledon 2000 and the same 3 people have won all 11 of them. if you go back to US Open 1999, you get 13 of 14 won by 4 different people.
