Venus vs. Justine, it was SO boring. I mean it started off well, but then it took it's same way as usual.
There were practically no emotioning point and it ended up 6-3, 6-3! It was like Justine would get some sort of advantage and she would not concrete it.
Still congratulations Venus, she played the best match of both weeks, but I would have liked to watch a better and more entertaining match....

Hope Serena and Kim can kick it off!

I agree it was terrible... it's always the same boring scenario... I'm so disappointed, I thought Henin would do a little better lol

I'm sure they both did everything they could to play a good match, but indeed the quality was not that high. I really can't see Venus win in the final.

Congrats Henin on a very good tournemant.
Congrats Venus for reaching the AO final for the first time.

It couldnt have been THAT bad

atleast on Venus' part

yes the first set was sloppy but she only made 12 UE in the second and thats just over 1 UE a game

From Vee's perspective, she could never get any rhythm on her strokes, so she made alot of errors. Henin was too caught up trying to carry out her gameplan to play her natural game!

while i concede that Justine vs Venus was not full of excitement, i think that Henin vs Ruano-Pascual or Kim vs Coetzer were both as dull as dishwater. this match tonite doesn't even come close.

but in general, the men have been delivering better and more exciting tennis i agree...;) ;)

ATROCIOUS! At least the men who have TONS Of power control their games and actually play points. Justine and Venus are WAY too inconsistent. :(

I must concede that I have been watching random mens matches and more often then not they end in winners, they are def a leg up on the women, maybe a leg and a foot and a baby toe.

2001 US OPEN QF Serena vs Lindsay
2002 F Wimbledon THAT was a good match

please don't put words in my mouth.

I won't see the match until midnight. From the stats above, I wouldn't qualify it the way the thread title suggests. I've seen worse stats than that. One thing to realize is that these two girls have a lot of respect for each other and probably were taking higher risks than usual. Hence, more errors. In the end, the scoreline shows 63-63 Vee, and that has a nice ring to it. :)

This match was really disappointing... Justine didn't play well, and didn't have a good game plan against Venus.

I guess the upside is that Justine at her worst still gave an average-playing Venus some worry. Justine has shown she can handle Venus' power... she just has to play her game and be more consistent in the big matches.

Actually, Venus's power seems to be the very thing that's stopping Justine from playing her game. Justine wasn't able to come to net nearly as many times as she did in her previous matches. Nor was she able to move Venus around as much as she should have.
