Nina Dübbers

she is my favourite German player
Anybody else like her?

I have never seen her play so far.

She's out of top 200 now because she didn't come over to Australia, although she would have made AO cutoff easily. :confused:

I hope she is OK.

Stupid me, I forgot that I had posted her name already in the Fullerton draw, LOL. :o

Unfortunately she lost 3-6 4-6 to Nathalie Grandin today.

I met her in Pamplona last summer and she was so nice with me, we were together in the Burger King, and altough it was difficult to comunicate, it was interesting to talk with her.

The only bad thing... is that when we took a pic, she was like 2 times me lol, and i told her she was too tall and she laughted.

I forgot to say that i liked a lot the way she played. I saw her in Valladolid, and then in Pamplona, and altough i wanted her to lose in Pamplona (lol she was playing my fave player Arancha and had not met her yet) she really made good matches. I think her serve gets her in lots of trouble in the important moments, but i think she can reach the top 100 soon.

Nina was born 24 June 1.980, the same day as me!! :D but one year early ;) She is right handed (two handed-backhand) and very very tall lol. She won just 1 ITF at Pamplona (where i met her) in 2001. She was the defending champion last year when i saw her, she was very upset for the way she played against Arancha, although she made a better match than what i saw in Valladolid the previous week. She has a good serve... but nerves on her make it a dangerous weapon in the important moments.

Hmm i dont know what more to say... hmm well yes one thing... she eats at Burger Kings! lol ;)

I met her last year at the German League. This was the time were I started realizing that she is a nice girl.

Anyone knows what's up with Nina?

She has not played just 1 tournament since August 04 (Glasgow in October), and she even didnt start 05 season. Is she injured or something?

wouldn't surprise me if she's retired. sorry.

She played some national tournaments! I played them too so I saw her! She won a very big tournament in Marl (Won finals in two sets against Sabine Klaschka) and played very well!
I think she will play many international tournaments this year, too!

Yes I will play some ITF tournaments! But not far away from Germany because I have to go to school( I'm 15 years old)

I saw Nina last weekend playin at the Bosch Open at Leipzig. She lost the final in three sets to Lydia Steinbach. Especially after winning the first set she looked very poor in set 2 and 3 which Lydia won easily 6-0 and 6-1 or similar.

Irgendwie wird sie wohl nicht mehr angreifen. Nina hat letzte Woche bei den internationalen badischen Meisterschaften um den Sparkassen Cup in Pforzheim mitgespielt. Habe sie dort gesehen, konnte kurz mit ihr reden. Da sie im Halbfinale relativ glatt verlor (6-7 2-6) gegen eine Qualifikantin und sie nun irgendwas im wirtschaftlichen Bereich studiert. Sehr schade, dachte eigentlich, als die damals US Open Hauptfeld gespielt hat, dass da mehr draus werden könnte..:sad:

She played "University Games" in Turkey together with Lydia Steinbach, but both lost early.

Nina Dübbers hat offiziell ihre (internationale) Karriere beendet, um sich auf ihr BWL Studium and der Universität Mannheim zu konzentrieren!

yes, she officially retired to concentrate on her economics-study!
she will continue playing tennis in national leagues and for her university, but she wont play international tournaments :sad:

This week she plays in Timmendorfer Strand and reached the Quarters already, with victories over Karoline Grymel and Marlen Mesgarzadeh.

The real opponents at this level in this tournament are only Andrea Sieveke, Svenja Exner, Hannah Kürvers, Christin Potsch and Julia Paetow.

Dübbers won the tournament today by defeating Lavinia Timme(Blau-Weiss Berlin) 6:2/ 6:2 in quarters, then Tanja Stegkämper(Großflottbeker THGC) 6:3/4:0 ret. in semis and Andrea Sieveke in the Final 4:6/6:3/6:4.

Another great day for young german tennis. :( But congratulations to Nina!

Has Nina had any tennis activity this year so far?

Nina played in the very early January a tourney but had to give up in quartes there because she had a flu. She then withdraw from a tourney in her home "district", don't know why. But I expect her to play next weekend in Hamm, it's the first bigger tourney again.
