View Full Version : Myskina comes from behind to beat Rubin!

Jan 20th, 2003, 07:37 AM
Rubin led 6-4 *2-0
Myskina was making too many unforced errors, anyway she struggled to come back and win the second and then in the third she cruised making13 or 14 winners and only 3 unforced errors.

Anyway bad luck Chanda:(
But great win and effort Myskina:)

Damn! Oh well.

Congrats Skin.
Good match, Chanda.

Nastya hit 15 winners and only 5 UE's in the third set. If Nastya hangs around enough to win a second, you're often dead in the third. She's done this a number of times. :)

Good match, Chanda...she's still on the up and up.

Congrats NASTYA! First major quarterfinal!! :bounce: :bounce: :bounce:

Still, she's gonna get killed by the Williams sister, Kim.

Jan 20th, 2003, 07:56 AM
Well, with other stars falling it keeps Myskina's hopes of cracking the top 10 alive.

kim hasn't won yet

I was asking because I know she's had some problems with her ankle.

No, she was playing with a Hingis serve (you know 75% in, 50% winners).

Plus, she had all chances of taking the second set, consistantly breaking AM's service, but she couldn't consolidate. AM has a great ROS.

She lost the second set 6/4, and her concentration with it (shadows of Capriati???)

Thanks, TF. We got no coverage of it here, so I had no idea what kind of match she played, and why?

Jan 20th, 2003, 08:31 AM
great win! I'm surprised she beat Rubin, actually, but still great win.

Two players that I like.....would have been happy for either of them.

Anyway, great effort by Anastasia.

:( i am so disappointed. This was Chanda's big chance of making the quarters at last of a slam without facing a williams in the 4th round. Chanda musn't have been playing at the same level as she was in the 3rd round when she played awesome tennis against schwartz.I thought she'd win this easily as she leads like 4-0 in the head-to-head:( does anyone know did Eurosport show this match live?

Maan I'm so proud of her ;) Crack into the Top 10!!

Looks like her shoulder is ok then ;)
