from top of the Pops:

The Daily Mirror claims that Madonna's latest album, her tenth, has been turned down by her record company. She has returned to her LA studio with producer Mirwais to tone down the electro-pop sound to please her bosses.

A pal told the tab: ""Madonna feels like she delivered her best album yet last week but the record label have insisted that the material needs to be changed. They really liked what they heard and it's another example of Madonna reinventing herself. But the problem is that it's too avant-garde to be a commercial success. She had used far too many electronic synthesizers on her voice and had morphed a lot of her vocals to sound like a robot. There was even a 12 minute long track. She was reluctant, but in the end has no choice but to go back to square one.""

The album is provisionally titled 'Ein Sof', Hebrew for 'endlessness'

Hmmmm, she should just release it on Maverick (her own label) then! :)

um this article is total bullshit...Liz R (M's publicist) completely denied it, the Warner crew have heard 8 new cuts and they love them...Madonna is currently working on the marketing aspect of the album...the final tracks are absolutely final...there is no re working

Why would Maverick, Madonnas own label, turn down her own CD? Wouldnt Madonna be her own boss?
