Iroda is a better player than Obata, but must consentrate to play. sometimes she just rush every ball into the net or out of the court in an attempt to put up a new world record of making every ball a winner.

Phew, she had us worried, losing the 1st. set, but then preceded in losing only a further 2 games, to win 4-6, 6-2, 6-0. Well done Iroda!! Semi’s will be Akiko Morigami (JPN, Unseeded, WTA ranked 128). Forget her ranking, she’s already knocked out the #1 and #8 seeds, and not dropped a set in the process!

Akiko Morigami got a wild card to the Australian Open after beating Ivanna;) Isroilova (UZB) in the Asian Championship final in Tashkent last year. In Melbourne Morigami beat Stanislava Hrozenska 62 61 before loosing to Panova in a three sets in the second round (63 57 46)
To beat Tulyaganova when she is fiering it takes better players than this, and if you ask me, such players are not to find:kiss: :bounce: :kiss: :bounce:

The whole stadium was supporting her today.Yesterday i was the only one supporting her and everybody were laughing but otheers also started supporting her during the doubles match in the second set.Now the whole stadium was chanting NOVA NOVA. We couldn't hear anything during the closing ceremony. She was also surprised by the support she got and she promised today also that she will come next year also this time in the press.
