View Full Version : Tour Taking Steps to Combat Racism

Dec 24th, 2002, 02:22 AM
The organizers of the Tour de France announced today they will no longer refer to it as a bicycle 'race'. "From now on," tour president Hanson de Handlebars said, "it will be known as a bicycle ancillary-skin-color-with-little-or-no-genetic-relevance. We want to do our part to combat racism around the world. We invite the Indianapolis 500, the 24 Hours of Le Mans and the Boston Marathon to follow our lead."

Phone calls to the management of the Indianapolis 500 and the 24 Hours of Le Mans yielded a terse 'no comment'. The head of the Boston Marathon simply ran away.
