Without a doubt my top album of the year is "Home" by the Dixie Chicks...fantastic...this album can, and likely will, change the direction of country music in the near future.

My next best album was really surprising to me..."White Lilies Island" by Natalie Imbruglia. It's a really awesome album and I'm disappointed with the lack of success it had in North America. I say I'm surprised by how good this album is simply because Natalie's last cd was awful. But hey that's how it seems to go here sometimes, the awful albums sell big and the good ones barely make a dent.

Very honourable mentions:
Linkin Park - Reanimation (cool remixes that actually sound different from the originals - what a concept)
Coldplay - A Rush of Blood to the Head
Tori Amos - Scarlet's Walk

Experimentee - glad to see a fellow fan of Millencollin! I was beginning to think I was the only one who'd even heard of them ;)

No Doubt - Rocksteady

Dec 28th, 2002, 11:19 PM
Red Hot Chili Peppers - By The Way (Brilliant, what more can I say. Just when I thought they couldnt top Californication...if you havent heard Dosed, Warm Tape, Minor Thing or Cant Stop do so now!)

george - Polyserena (great young Aussie band led by a brother/sister combo who split the 13 songs in half, she gets 7 he gets 6...he sounds like Jeff Buckley, she sounds quite like no-one else at the moment. Spectacular debut)

No Doubt - Rock Steady (In parts it was ND's ode to the 80's...heaps of fun)

Interpol - Turn On The Bright Lights (gets better with each listen)

QOTSA - Songs For The Deaf (best hard rock outfit of the year, no question. Does wonders for bad moods :p)

Soulwax - 2 Many DJ's (how much do I love this? GET IT NOW! you wont regret it...non stop bootleggin madness. Where else can you hear Destiny's Child's Independent Women interspliced with Dolly Parton's 9 to 5? Or Salt N Pepa meeting The Stooges?)

Bic Runga - Beautiful Collision (This woman deserves a wider audience...now. Hearing this on your stereo is one thing, but hearing her perform it live is fuckin awesome)

Williams Rulez
