Bad news: Haas blew 5 set points.

poor petko, has to team up with a choker like Haas

blew 5 Setpoints, and served for the set at 5:4 in 3rd set
but lost it 5:7

well done Tommy :yeah:

Andrea's match should be next, after Tommy Haas managed to choke. Twice. In an exhibition.

Yeah poor Petko has to team up with the best German player of the last 15 years :p

So lets see how Petko starts into the season. :)

Nobody doubts Tommy's talent, but his choking abilities are second to none. He had 5 set points in the first set, and served for the match without having faced a single break point until then. Against someone called "Tomic the tank engine".

In the end it doesnt matter if you choke or lose 36 36. And Tommy has always been like this, and today was one of "his" days.

So lets hope for a good start for Petko now :)

As I said he always was like this, sometimes when he has a lead or serves for the match his head is already in the shower or at the dinner.

No it shouldnt and if he coud stay concentrated he would have won much more in his career... but still theres no one better Petko could team up with.

Her grunt is still working.

Barty has a pretty good serve for her size and age.

matthias
Dec 29th, 2012, 12:31 PM
kind of a gifted break for Petko

Katja.
Dec 29th, 2012, 12:35 PM
Gifted it back.

Her serve is still not really improved, but the ground strokes look better than last year.

matthias
Dec 29th, 2012, 12:36 PM
her forehand still tend to be a bit sloppy
and i still get the impression her anticipation is not that good as before

Forehand looks sloppy sometimes. Serve hasn't improved. :(
Her movement looks really good though. And I hope she can gain some confidence this week.

Katja.
Dec 29th, 2012, 12:44 PM
Last year I had a feeling with pretty much every ground stroke that she was gonna nail it into the net, that has improved. Though while writing this, her forehand has gone completely gone off the rails.

Still, I feel better about her return game than about her service game.

Very adorable that Andrea still hasn`t lost humor in that situation.

Bones, ligaments, cartilage damages,...
She has not left out any serious injury that you can have in sport.
Without doubt there is a big question mark about her tennis career now.
A constitutional therapy and a little time out could be useful.
What ever she will decide to do now - Good luck to her.

I think all these injuries have to get to your mind at some point. It must be getting worse each time. It will be harder to trust your body, and I think you need to in professional sports. She might be able to come back to the tour but sadly a return to the top gets more and more unlikely with each new injury.
