I love all of those. Next Food Network Star, also.

Top Chef is the only cooking show I watch. Love it, and I do nothing but eat during it.

A good family friend was just on the Thanksgiving episode of Chopped a few weeks ago. He owns a restaurant on Staten Island I go to like once a month. He won, if anyone saw it. The viewing party he threw for it was a ton of fun. Couldn't have happened to a nicer guy.

Any show with Guy Douchieri should be boycotted. That's about it. I like Top Chef, too.

Bizarre Foods with Andrew Zimmern (Travel Channel),
Good Eats,
Chopped, and
Diners, Drive-Ins & Dives.

And on PBS:
America's Test Kitchen,
Cooks Country,
Patti's Mexican Table,
Mexico -- One Plate at a Time with Rick Bayless, and
Check, Please!

Any show with Guy Douchieri should be boycotted. That's about it. I like Top Chef, too.

I feel the same way about Bobby Flay, but the food outshines Guy on Triple D. I've gone to about 5 of the restaurants featured on there, so far. :lick:

Did you see this scathing review of Guy's new Times Square restaurant?

Ouch! :hysteric:

Ouch! :hysteric::lol: I like Bobby. I think it's probably because I find him pretty cute :hysteric: I've heard he's an asshole in RL.

Guy, though, is the worst. And yes, I've read that NY Times review before :oh: Total career changer if not career killer for Guy, at least in his quest to be a world-renowned and respected chef. Couldn't happen to a better guy. I know a couple people who have had his food, and the reviews haven't been too glowing.

No it doesn't. It's a bunch of people giving dinner parties & then scoring each other.

Man v. Food is an American food reality television series (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Food_reality_television_series). It premiered on December 3, 2008 on the Travel Channel (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Travel_Channel). The program is hosted by actor and food enthusiast Adam Richman (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Adam_Richman_%28actor%29).[1] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Man_v._Food#cite_note-chi9-1) In each episode, Richman explores the "big food" offerings of a different American city before facing off against a pre-existing eating challenge at a local restaurant.

It simply focuses on competitive eating contests, which in RL, a Japanese guy named Cory Hayashi usually wins.

how many hours did he practice for the show?

He said Evelyn was a nervous wreck during the taping. They had to like calm her down multiple times. She also stole half the things he said when they were sitting around and said them in her own interviews.

He practiced a lot with "weird" foods. My dad and some other people would bring him different types of foods from Chinatown and stuff that you can't get in normal markets so he could mess around with them. His sister actually bought kumquats for him and he laughed at her and was like what I am going to do with kumquats and never practiced with them, then they wound up being one of the ingredients he had to work with.

All in all he said it was an awesome experience. He wound up donating all the money to Sandy recovery efforts.

Top Chef, though the judges irritate me. Last season they almost crowned a fat bully and this season they keep kicking out my faves and it has just started! :bigcry:

I also watch Hell's Kitchen though it's soooooooooo repetitive, it gets quite boring. It's like a huge scallops disaster every single season, come on!

I'm not alluding to the eating contests in the show. Just in general when they showcase food from a particular city/town, it feels like the portions are always huge. Either that or food is really cheap.
I get why Dave likes that show. He's hankering to eat all the time.:p

out of curiosity, do you know if they do the interviews after each round or all at once at the end?

:yeah: good for him. totally deserved win.

I am not completely sure but I believe they interview after each round. It took literally all day to film and he said they interview you for hours and only so much makes the show obviously.

Guy Fieri Parody Menu Prompts Big Online Laughs, with a Side of Accusations

Seems like Guy Fieri just can’t catch a break. First, his new Manhattan restaurant, Guy’s American Kitchen and Bar, gets slammed with the worst (and funniest) review ever. Now the place is being raked through the coals by a jokester who created a bogus restaurant website—with a hilarious fake menu—simply by purchasing the restaurant’s domain name.

I can't claim credit for that, there's a site dedicated to making fun of the food people, and one has popular google searches for Food Network stars, that being one of them. The other big ones are whether Giada is a dwarf, is Ina Garten's husband gay, is Sandra Lee an alcoholic, and does Rachel Ray have throat cancer.

Try to find the website, those are just the ones I remember, they were funny, but oddly reflect what goes through the minds of typical Americans...
